My tivo cut off the last few seconds of this episode. Did the White Stripes actually play at the benefit for Bart, like the description says? Last I saw was Bart saying he'd donate the money to Lisa's animal preserve.

I enjoyed the episode, but thought the ending was kind of lame. Homer's sleep machine was pretty funny, especially since I use one myself.

Wow, that was terrible. Another rehash of episodes gone by.
Plus, it seemed like they only had about 10 minutes of script, because several sequences went on forever (the White Stripes thing, Krusty listing off all the Jazz performers, etc).

I love the Simpsons and have found episodes I like every year. I liked last week's episode somewhat.
This episode was f**king terrible.
Totally felt like no effort was put into the writing.
I'm just hoping they're dumping their stinkers before Fox breaks for MLB playoffs and comes back with the better stuff in November.

For being a show whose writers supposedly detest Family Guy, they seem to emulate that show more and more every year. The White Stripes thing seemed like something that would be straight out of FG. And with Lisa's comment about the two plots intersecting or whatever, its almost like they're trying to parody themselves.
I like that The Simpsons has made a tradition out of starting an episode one way and then having it lead to a completely different plot, but when the initial part lasts for half the episode, you don't get much of a second part.

They really let the circus have it tonight. Not only was there the circus fire noise machine, but then as Lisa is collecting animals she passes the by the circus site with a sign over the entrance reading "Closed due to popular demand."

I thought this episode started off really strong, I was laughing quite a bit in the first third. Then I got so bored I wanted to turn it off and go do something else...I should have.

Like most peope here, I thought the episode started off pretty dang well but got less and less funny as it went on. Pretty blah episode (which is too bad). I think it was even worse in comparison to last night's Family Guy (which I watched before Simpsons) which I thought was really funny.
