Any news on the 2006-2007 SNL Saturday Night Live Cast?
I guess it is safe to say Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch are gone with their new NBC sitcom premiering in the Fall.
Is there any news on any other cast departures or new additions joining the cast?

He did mention, that in his opinion, he feels that the cast that comes from the Improv world gets more skits on the air, as opposed to the ones from stand-up (like him).

I pray and hope that Tina Fey is gone. It's about time for this show to get back at being funny. I hope the head writer isn't a woman this time around. Quite simply, her decisions about the material aired has driven SNL into the ground.

Well change is needed. I can remember only one show in the last 3 years that I thought was solid with good comedy from beginning to end and that's just bad considering the legacy of SNL.

Out of that group I can only come up tieh 4 people that I find funny. Darrell Hammond (although only when doing the political stuff), Maya Rudolph (who I can only take in small doses), Amy Poehler, and Kenan Thompson (yes I think the Good Burger kid is funny).
That's a pretty sad cast but I guess the same could be said about pratically every cast of characters since the mid 90's or so. There really isn't a "break out" star amongst them.

Tough call on who they should fire. I think Poehler is funny in other stuff but mostly unfunny on SNL for some reason. Kenan isn't the best, but at least he tries every time he's out there.. unlike some of the others. Like Sanz, who has no comedic acting ability... he just recites the lines and laughs. He's only useful as a sight gag, but just about any fat guy could fill that role. Dratch is game and puts herself into her bits, but we've seen everything she has to offer at this point.
Regardless of the cast, the writing staff needs some major fresh blood.

Personally, I'd keep the entire class of 2005 since most showed potential, especially Wiig. Also, keep Poehler, Meyers, Forte, Finesse, Armissen, and Parnell. I like Rachel Dratch alot, but her best material is already over with, and Maya Rudolph generally annoys me so some new girls would really help. Horatio Sanz is the only cast member that absolutely must go.
I'd let Darrell Hammond stay as long as he wants since he basically only shows up to do political sketches or the occasional celebrity impersonation nowadays. Does he ever do any other sketches nowadays that doesn't require an impersonation or the entire cast to be present? It seems like he's outta there by 11:45 every week.

I really like Wiig too, but mostly because I'm a big time Joe Schmo Show fan. Dr. Pat is da bomb.

I used to really dislike Kenan Thompson, but he's grown on me as of late. I wouldn't be broken up to see him go though.
Wiig should be given much more screen time, she's been amazing in her appearances this past season. I even liked her chirpy Walmart cashier character. If Poehler or Dratch has to go to make room, so be it.
Hammond is Hammond. He's like the old wise kahuna in a group of young surfers.
And once again, KILL FELLATIO SANZ.
