This just happened to me. I had already applied the discount, then I took a few items out of my cart. When my cart refreshed, the discount was taken off, and the promo box was gone. Can anyone else try that to see if it's a bug, or if it was just a glitch for me.

Im so dissapointed right now. They jacked up the prices i see. New Jack City was 10 bucks a few days ago, now its 21. I hate waiting all year to save peanuts. Ive seen better sales on many of these DVD's during the year. I bought Deadwood season 1 and 2 for a total of 85 bucks or so at bestbuy. DDD wont be getting my money this year

BUT if you already have a few volumes (especially if you have an artbox), I can see why it would be tempting to complete those two. Personally, I'm holding out for thinpacks on both series. I'm trying to think of any anime sets I want to pick up. So far the only thing I felt like I really needed/wanted was the Kaleido Star thinpack, and I ordered some Star Trek stuff for my dad. There are a few other boxsets (non-anime) that I'm considering, but I want to think about it a little bit first. I jumped on KS because of the ADV fiasco last time around. :)

I checked prices in my wish list yesterday and several prices had actually gone down since yesterday. However, yesterday the new 16x9 widescreen versions of Grizzly and Day of the Animals were in my wishlist, but today they were no longer in my wishlist or on the website either.

I haven't seen Divergence Eve, but I read somewhere that it's heavy on the fan service. Najica Blitz Tactics is another fan service set, but I have seen that one and I did enjoy it.:) You can get the Fruits Basket series at CH as enrollment selections. I say go for Haibane Renmei. I ordered it a few days ago at DDD when they were running their Geneon sale. The price that I paid is the same as it is now with the 20% off. I almost didn't get it because I know that some people were finding it for $3.99 a disc at Big Lots. My local BL has never had any anime to speak of so I pulled the trigger. With the recent FYE, DVD Planet and DDD Geneon sales coupled along with this sale is going to put me into the poor house.:(

Pick up Haibane Renmei. It's an amazing series.
I just wish this could've waited a few more weeks, like to the 27th, for stuff like the Love Hina collection, Ichigo Mashimaro (Strawberry Marshmallow) v1, the 3rd Full Metal Alchemist Box, etc.

I haven't seen Divergence Eve, but I read somewhere that it's heavy on the fan service. Najica Blitz Tactics is another fan service set, but I have seen that one and I did enjoy it.:) You can get the Fruits Basket series at CH as enrollment selections. I say go for Haibane Renmei. I ordered it a few days ago at DDD when they were running their Geneon sale. The price that I paid is the same as it is now with the 20% off. I almost didn't get it because I know that some people were finding it for $3.99 a disc at Big Lots. My local BL has never had any anime to speak of so I pulled the trigger. With the recent FYE, DVD Planet and DDD Geneon sales coupled along with this sale is going to put me into the poor house.:(

The second Gantz set won't be available for this sale, unfortunately. And I'm not sure Best Buy is going to put out another 30% off coupon, but that would be pretty damn amazing.
And yeah, I noticed that Media Blasters' stuff wasn't available when I noticed a few things missing from my wishlist (Female Prisoner DVDs & Pistol Opera). That's a shame, but like you said, probably just as well... Oh well. My money will go elsewhere, I'm sure!

Well, I'm kind of disappointed about one thing. Just MINUTES before I found out about the sale, I was adding things to my wishlist, such as... The Female Prisoner DVDs along with Pistol Opera. Neither are available all of a sudden, so I'm assuming Tokyo Shock/Media Blasters have removed their items from the sale like ADV did last time? Any confirmation/word on this? Anyone else having the same problem? Let me know.
I can confirm both as well. I had the 2 Sukeban Deka movies in my Wishlist and they have disappeared (Tokyo Shock), and I was looking at the Ah My Goddess TV discs (Media Blasters) before, but they are now listed as unavailable as well.
Also of note, I had the Red Dwarf Series 8 w/ Scutter figure in my wishlist, but that item seems to have been removed from the database completely. Ah, well, I probably didn't need the figure anyway.

REGARDING MEDIA BLASTERS TITLES
I can also verify that none are "available for purchase". You've likely noticed they've been moved to the bottom of each list of 10 titles. That's every Shriek Show, Tokyo Shock and Exploitation Digital title.
FWIW:
THERE IS A SALE at HKflix.com right now on just about EVERY Media Blasters title...I recently ordered GRIZZLY and DAY OF THE ANIMALS from them for $10.95 a piece.
Maybe that's why they've elected to have their titles excluded from purchase during DDD's promotion. I really don't know, so consider that speculation.
And maybe I should have started a different thread about this, but I figured a couple of other people ACTUALLY READ A PAGE OR TWO WORTH OF THE THREAD before asking questions they could answer themselves if they bothered to look.

REGARDING MEDIA BLASTERS TITLES
I can also verify that none are "available for purchase". You've likely noticed they've been moved to the bottom of each list of 10 titles. That's every Shriek Show, Tokyo Shock and Exploitation Digital title.
FWIW:
THERE IS A SALE at HKflix.com right now on just about EVERY Media Blasters title...I recently ordered GRIZZLY and DAY OF THE ANIMALS from them for $10.95 a piece.
That seems like a pretty decent explanation. Thanks for the speculation -- it makes it feel more warranted to me. :)

I've got about $300 worth of DVD's, a couple of which I could skip on and wait for a better price on another sale or flyer ad and reduce it by about $30 or so. Do I spend the money on these or a cd player and xm radio tuner for my car? I already spent $250 on brake work and gonna spend about $2000 rebuilding my transmission soon. But, a bunch are WB dvd's that have mail in rebates, buy 5 and get a $40 MIR that ends 6/30/06 and has to be submitted 7/14/06. To buy or not to buy..... why did my damn transmission start slipping?????

Anyone know why DDD doesn't carry the SE of The Great Raid? It's not an SE that's long-since vanished like Cinderella Man or Jarhead. All the other stores still have it.

DVDPlanet has them at $19.47 for the $29.95 titles, and $25.76 for the $39.95 titles. So you save about a quarter buying them from the DDD sale this year, whereas in November, you saved at least $3 a piece, if not more.. I think they were about $17.25 and $23.00 respectively back then.
Like I said previously, I'll probably order a handful, but not $600 worth like I did last sale.

Still, for a couple bucks, I'm not going to complain. A lot of these Criterions were those prices earlier in the year anyway when DDD had them on sale, so I can't really blame them for raising the prices on them a bit. Still, I think that it's a great deal overall for them.

Yes, but that doesn't explain why the two other titles ordered with it (which are apparently both in stock) are showing up as backordered on everyone's orders.
If the title is cancelled, it should simply be removed from the order, and the remaining (in stock) titles should ship. That isn't happening with many people's orders. And the phone reps (especially 'Donna' apparently) are rude and unhelpful.

REGARDING MEDIA BLASTERS TITLES
I can also verify that none are "available for purchase". You've likely noticed they've been moved to the bottom of each list of 10 titles. That's every Shriek Show, Tokyo Shock and Exploitation Digital title.
FWIW:
THERE IS A SALE at HKflix.com right now on just about EVERY Media Blasters title...I recently ordered GRIZZLY and DAY OF THE ANIMALS from them for $10.95 a piece.
Maybe that's why they've elected to have their titles excluded from purchase during DDD's promotion. I really don't know, so consider that speculation.
I've actually been holding off on the Post-Apocalyptic Collection just for this sale... oh well.
I feel soooo guilty, but I've had my eye on these for a while, so there it is. Picked up Aeon Flux for my dad.

Based on past experiences, I believe that these titles are gone from your wishlist forever.
If anyone's on the fence, or bitterly disappointed, HKFlix.com is a reputable site based in Honolulu, Hawaii. I've ordered from them several times, and never had any major complaints. Their sale prices on the Media Blasters catalog seem to be fairly close to what DDD would be with their 20% off---might not match it, but it's still cheaper than you normally find them at DDD...or anywhere else, for that matter. And their shipping time is pretty quick---last order I placed (when the MB sale started) arrived seven days later, and they've got free shipping on orders over $49 bucks, with tracking/delivery confirmation. Not trying to be a shill, but it seems like a few people are a bit irked over these titles not being included, and this is a viable alternative.

In the FAQ thread about this sale, there were reports of DDD upgrading some people's orders to Priority or UPS---but it seemed to be a rash of very random, isolated incidents, so I wouldn't count on it. I know it's never happened to me, and I've placed several orders over $100, but none higher than $200. Perhaps there's a magical threshold at which point it happens...or maybe it's the number of syllables in your first and last names...or where you live...essentially, I don't really know how it works, unless you actually choose to upgrade the shipping option at the time of checkout.
I hope you got the Image version of DETOUR. For that price, it should be.

True Romance and Lost Boys were part of the WB sale on their 2disc special editions. The sale ended a while back. The price listed has not gone up. It's reverted back to its original retail price, prior to that particular sale.
The Post Apocalyptic Triple Feature is a Media Blasters 3-pack, and unfortunately, Media Blasters seems to have asked DDD to remove their titles from the DDDDatabase dddduring the dddduration of the ddddagum sale.
