Schwarzenegger could actually be one of my favourite actors

So, I'm looking at my dvd collection and notice that I have around 7 of his films.

The Terminator
T2
Total Recal
True Lies
Conan (both, I count as one though)
Last Action Hero
The Running Man

All of whch kick ass. He's done some crappy ones. Everything after True Lies, but his early films where awesome.

I haven't even got Predator or Commando yet, and I remember those being alright.

Predator is probably one of his best movies. No angst, no hookers, no drug addicts, no weird lighting or camera angles, just a tight action movie.

I think of him more as an 'action star' not so much an actor because well, he can't act.
He has made some very entertaining films though.

To me, his most rewatchable stuff is the pure cheese movies - Commdando, Raw Deal, Red heat.

Sure I like the other stuff, but I can sit and watch Raw Deal anyday and be amused

He's more a personality than an Actor. DeNiro is an Actor. Schwarzengger shoots guns, mumbles lines and is a terrible Govenor.

Nothing wrong with saying anyone is your "favorite" actor since thats different then saying hes the "best" actor.I always use the word favorite when im talking about music or movies that way no one can really argue with me although they can say i have bad taste

Anyway i like most of Arnies films although i dont own any on dvd.

I must say.. I enjoyed Twins (I'd make that face too if Kelly Preston just screwed my brains out), Kindergarten Cop (It's not a toomah!) but Junior was awful.

I own and love all of his movies except these 2..
Hercules in New York
Red Sonja
and I own but hate...
Junior
Batman & Robin(tho he had the best cheesy oneliners)

Tho I haven't seen Conan. Yes that means I even like Jingle All The Way.

Lets hope we see Terminator 4,and I hope the new Terminator besides Arnold is The Rock. Maybe even a Evil more advanced Arnold vs Good Terminator The Rock. Who's with me?
He's one of my favorite actors along with Jim Carrey

Arnold is ok as an actor. Most of the time, he can't really act for shit. Action, he's all over it.

Kindergarden Cop rocks, though.

I have no idea what went wrong with Ah-nuld in that movie.

He said some really cheesy one liners many, many times in the past but in "Batman & Robin" they were just intolerable.

Was it the movie? The character? Or maybe Arnie was just past his prime?

"Where's buzzsaw?"

"He had to split."

It must just be "Batman & Robin"

You like Arnold and you don't own Commando! WHAT in theeee hell is wrong with you?

What other movie on this planet shows us a man carrying a tree over his shoulder, feeding deer with alyssa milano, jumping out of an airplane while taking off, ripping out and throwing a mall phone booth, and blasting out one-liners like this- "I eat green berets for breakfast, and right now im very hungry"

Huh, what movie?

I applaud you for owning "Last Action Hero" as that movie is highly underrated. Arnie making fun of his previous movies = pure gold.

But i cannot forgive your lack of "Predator".

Me too. It's in my Christmas film rotation every year.

Love the Terminator films, not a big fan of the rest of his action flicks.

I'm kind of amazed at the number of people saying Arnold can't act, then going on to say they like this or that title. Titles that show quite clearly that he can act.

Just more proof of action star bias, I guess. ;-)

When I was younger, I watched Arnold movies all the time. The movie I probably watched the most as a kid was Commando, I still love that movie. I can't believe I don't own that yet.

I remember the first time I watched T2, right after it came out on video in the early nineties. I also remember going to see Kindergarden Cop at the theater. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Arnie being you favourite actor.

Arnie movies I have on DVD:

Jingle All the Way
Last Action Hero (Truly underrated film)
Predator
The Terminator
Terminator 2
Total Recall

Going out to buy Commando tomorrow!

I see someone else watches Conan (...I mean the O'Brien variety, not the Barbarian version)
