Scrubs to ABC next year? (Variety)

Was going to post this in this week's Scrubs episode thread, but figured it deserved its own thread.

Just an FYI to everyone, there's a good article in Variety about Scrubs:

Perplexed Peacock: NBC's timeslot shuffles haven't made life easier for 'Scrubs'

Most notably:

And even with new hits "My Name Is Earl" and "The Office," Lawrence figures that, unless every one of NBC's midseason comedies work, the net will need "Scrubs" to help anchor a second comedy block outside of Thursdays. Indeed, even if NBC passes, ABC topper Steve McPherson -- who developed "Scrubs" while running Touchstone -- has indicated he'd buy the show for the Alphabet.

Might be the stupidest thing for NBC to do outside of giving every cast member not named Seinfeld their own series.

I'm for anything that prolongs the life of Scrubs.

Something tells me they won't quite appeal to the same demographic though. If anything, they need "Four Kings" to succeed in place of W&G.

ABC wants the show they originally passed on in the first place? That is hilarious.

That's still on?! I thought they just had white noise in that time slot.

Well and it would be SO hard for them to get it. After all, it is a Buena Vista/Touchstone Television production.

ABC did it before with Monk. They passed on it, USA got it. Then in a brilliant move, ABC kept the option to re-air the episodes shortly after they were shown on USA. Of course, this was only with the first season. Didn't happen with the following seasons.

No shit. Scrubs is the only network show I watch every week that is NOT in HD. It makes no sense.

I guess this doesn't mean that BL and ZB are as peeved at NBC as I imagined they were. I figured that since they didn't have a pick-up for next year already, everybody would pretty much go their own way after this season even if NBC wanted more.
