I'm trying to pick it up in the trade forum but no luck so far. I hear gamestop offers it for 29.99 used but none of the ones around me have it in stock. Any thoughts? Best buy is 79.99, ebay is probably around $45 shipped.

Great show. I'm in the middle of the second season right now. Definitely a good idea to go the "used" route if you don't mind less than perfect discs, box, etc. Those HBO MSRP's are brutal. How about a local Blockbuster? You might be able to get the individual discs pretty cheap. I know sometimes they run those sales on previously viewed stuff.

Best price on Half.com for a new (non-bootleg) season one is $49. As long as you make sure it is not a bootleg, that or ebay is the route to go. That is where I got both my season one and two.

i know you mentioned this - but i'm going to agree with your first option. i got my season 2 at gamestop. the best thing to do is use their online search and see if there are any in your area. when i was looking for season 2 i checked every few days. they are usually pretty good at transfering the item from one store to another as well. i finally found mine for 29.99, plus my 10% discount card (i buy a lot of dvds from them so i signed up for the card) so i came out under 30 with tax. my copy looked almost brand new. so did the first 3 seasons of the sopranos that i got (buy 2 get 1). just keep up on gamestop - it really is your best option. oh, sometimes suncoast in the malls will have it used as well - though not quite as good of a deal.
