X-Box 360 - Best Buy Replacement Program
Did anyone else buy the 'X-box 360 Replacement' program when they purchased their X-box? When I bought mine last January, I paid an extra $35-40 to be able to trade it in for a new X-box 360. I still have the receipt but there are no instructions for how to use. When I called my local Best Buy, they had no clue what I was talking about...
Does anyone know anything about this?

sounds like your salesman hustled you... the only thing stores offer are replacement plans.
What they probably meant was that you can bring in your old Xbox and apply the credit towards a 360. So either they didn't explain it fully/at all or you completely misunderstood.

Yeah. If in 2 years it breaks, they will replace it at the value that you paid.

Used to work at Best Buy...I got the PRPs down...
Pretty much it depends on the store. Some stores will force you to call the number on the back of the pamphlet and send your XBox in to them and they will mail you a voucher for what you paid for your Xbox...
Some stores will allow you to take it straight to the store for store credit for what you paid for your Xbox...
The thing is, you must show them that it is not working (they will test it especially since a lot of people are probably wanting to do this) and if it is broken they will give your store credit. Heres the kicker though, it CANNOT look like you abused it...if you drop it and it cracks or dents...they will not accept the return...so be careful what you do..

Now here's the kicker : a few weeks later, I was returning an item and the old man in front of me just brought in his older PS2 to the counter with the receipt and they just gave him a giftcard. When I asked about it, they said that they would just swap it out there if you bring it in.
Doubt they'd be that accommodating on launch day, though.
One more thing : the salespeople are aggressive about selling the replacement program, often saying that you can just bring it in at any time for any reason during the two years and they'll get you another one. I'd hold them to that one
