How about a music-only Flash Gordon soundtrack

What a waste the Flash Gordon soundtrack is. The music itself is pretty good. However, it seems that when making the soundtrack, they just took the final film and recorded the soundtrack right off it. Almost all (if not all) the tracks have the frickin' voices/SFX out of the movie over the music. If I wanted to hear Flash yappin during a tune, just throw in the movie. Maybe its time to put out a soundtrack of just the music. The only voices that should be heard besides the main song is the few times when 'Flash' is sung in some tracks.

Brain May has basically stated that there will be no such release. I forget his reasoning but I believe it had something to do with him thinking the music didn't sound right without the words present.

The Flash Gordon music is great, no question. But it was written specifically to fit within the scheme of the scenes of the movie. The dialogue of the movie and the music complement each other so well, taking one away from the other would be silly, and, quite frankly, boring to listen to. Look at the title song...without the audio from the movie, all you'd have for a majority of the song is the piano/bass drum going "thump thump thump thump thump..." with an occasional "FLASH! AH-AAAAAAH!". I'll take the movie dialogue.
