Help ID this kids movie from the 90's...

Alrite guys...need your help. I am trying the find the title of a certain movie that aired on TV (maybe in theaters?) in the mid 90s. Heres the 'plot' to the best of my recollection.

Its about two teenage girls. Both don't like each other. Ones a spoiled girl, the other is nerdy. The nerdy girl has a science expirement that I think pertains to potato chips, and the rich girls ruins it (my crunching them up?). The school made then switch familys, to see how each girl lives. The nerdy girls family owns a deli (maybe bakery?), and I think the grandfather dies....Anyway, they become good friends at the end, and thats it. This is all I can remember...Maybe someone out there is a genius and can help me? I have a Coke and Cookie for you!
