I threw in the pilot on DVD to get ready to rewatch the first season and it's turning out better than the first time I watched it. Now that I know the characters and more of the background plot, it's easier to follow.

Okay, I saw that this was happening, so I season passed it on SciFi. So do I need to watch something else (a pilot or mini-series) before I start watching these episodes?

I suppose you could fill in the gaps if you just start with the series, but there's soooo many important things that happen in the mini-series, I would really recommend you start there.

Unless you get it used, you might have a problem finding it cheap now. You could rent it pretty easily, I would guess.

Thanks! I'll see if I can rent the mini-series before I start watching the repeats.

Just FYI, if you can record the Friday episode repeats in the meantime, the mini-series will also be replayed on SciFi on April 28, all 4 hours, starting at 7pm ET.

Thanks! I wonder if I will have to Tivo that separately, or if it will grab it in my current season pass? Anyway, I'll just wait until that records, then start watching the series.

Thanks for the info, guys!

That's what I'm waiting to see, too, but it probably will be next Monday before guide data hits to be able to check, or MAYBE over the weekend. I usually don't get Thurs/Fri data until the Monday that is 10ish days prior, and SciFi is almost always slower than a lot of other stations.

I'm impatient and couldn't wait until the 28th. I got the miniseries in the mail yesterday and plan to watch that and 33 this afternoon. Here's hoping it's as good as everyone makes it out to be.

I just found out today they're rerunning it. I wish I'd seen this thread last week. Looking at their schedule, I see I missed both the mini-series and "33" last week.
