...Mike Greenberg of ESPN's Mike & Mike in the Morning show effectively made an assclown of himself this morning by saying people shouldn't boo certain sports stars, citing the example of Mariano Rivera being booed yesterday when the Yankees lost to the Red Sox.

I think people should remind him that Northeasterners in general are rabid sports fans, and they definitely have a What have you done for me lately? attitude. Given that Greenberg does live in the Northeast, he should have understood this a long time ago.

Sheesh. -rolleyes-

Does he think people shouldn't applaud them, either?

...and I wonder what he means by "certain sports stars"?

He basically meant future Hall of Famers who have been class-acts throughout their careers.

Hope Dan Haren pitches well for the A's tonight.

Angels and Rangers tied at 3 in the top of the 5th. Lackey was cruising along, with a 3-0 lead, and then gives up a single, a walk, a double, a passed ball, another walk, and another double. Runners at 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs now.

Why is Shields pitching in the top of the 9th with a one run lead? Where is K-Rod? The Rangers have a man on 2nd with no outs Barajas at the plate.

What on earth is Mike S. thinking? K-Rod isn't even warming up.

Wild pitch moves the runner to 3rd, and Barajas walks. That's 5 wild pitches in the game for the Angels tonight.

Runners at the corners, 0 outs, Shields still pitching, and Soriano at the plate. K-Rod still sitting on the bench.

Mad Dawg

They just said Mike S. said he's "not available"

nickdawgy

Base hit by Young, game is tied at 6.

Teixeira coming up with men on 1st and 2nd, and 2 outs.

Good move keeping K-Rod on the bench, Mike

Teixeira grounds out. Heading to the bottom of the 9th. Looks like we may have another extra frames game tonight.

Boy the Giants team was put together badly. Without Bonds in the line-up or Schmidt pitching, they're going to have a hard time doing anything. It's just a bunch over the hill players in depends out there for them. Their bullpen sucks and it looks like Alou is headed to the DL too.

Let's see how Dessens and Erickson do for the Dodgers in Zona. Penny needs to get healthy quick and Edwin Jackson needs his head on straight.

Vlad walks, so 2 on for Anderson with Finley on deck.

Anderson grounds into a fielders choice, so now DaVanon at 3rd, and Anderson at 1st with Finley at the plate.

If the Rangers were smart, they'd intentionally walk Finley to set up the force at any base.

Wow, Finley tried the squeeze and it juuuust went foul.

I know that. But with runners at the corners, it would have made sense. At least I think so.

With Cabrera up next, I might have taken my chances with loading them up. I guess Showalter was playing the lefty on lefty percentages, but that doesn't mean much with a hitter like Finley.

Home to first would be a double play. Second to first might have not worked since Finley has some speed.

Great win by the Halos! That was a great series. I think Texas will be our toughest oppoent in this division, they've got a solid line-up and good pitching. Angels bull pen has looked shaky this opening series but its too early to be concerned about. If Scioscia would have not used K-Rod in a tie game last night he would have been available to save the game tonight but he gets paid to make decisions, not me.

Great clutch hit by Finley! :D :D

I hate that shit. A fantastic pitchers duel in SD, and it ends on a freaking bases loaded walk. -ohbfrank-

Padres beat the Pirates 1-0 in 12 innings. The only run scored was on a bases loaded 4 pitch walk.
