Question about XBox Live Starter Kit
If I have a 1 year card for Xbox Live, do I need the starter kit to use it? Let's say I already have the Xbox Live disc for loading the software. Is that memory card necessary for Xbox Live?

1. Nope.
2. Nope.
You can use the card just fine. I'd reccomend that you start your account with the free two month trial, and then add on the 1 year sub.

I believe you can only use 1 2 month trial per card.
And you cannot use a 2 month trial card if you are already a subscriber(via 12 month card or yearly paid subscription)
You could make a new account with a 2 month trail card, but you can't use it with an already active account.

Guys, is the Xbox Live Memory Chip with Volume & Headset jack necessary to use the headset with it? How can I get that chip by itself without the headset I don't need? Is there a control that is sold that wouldn't require that chip?
Thanks

edit: Mad Catz does make a new controller with the hardware. It's called the LiveCon Controller. Yes, it IS a dumb name. It lists for $39.99 Here's a picture
And here's the Phoenix Pad Live that lists for $44.95
