DirecTivo DVR Nielsen

So, about a month ago I believe, there was a little message on my DirecTivo asking for volunteers to help Neilsen study the use of DVRs.

I submitted my name by going through the menu.
Last night, I got a call from Nielsen saying I've been selected.
They are sending me a form to sign and return authorizing them to collect data about my viewing habits.

I don't know if this is like being a full blown Nielsen house or not.
The guy on the phone said it was for them to "help study DVR usage"

He was on the phone with me for like 10 minutes. I had to answer a whole bunch of demographic and statistical type information so they can classify my household.

Should be interesting.

So.. everyone bow to me and I might just record and watch a show that you like to keep it on the air.

J/K.. I don't even know what will be done at this point. Just have to wait for the forms.

Anyways, I thought it was pretty cool.

I don't have a phone line connected to my DTiVo, so I'm sure I'm not eligible--never saw the message or anything. But I think it's about time that Nielsen start looking at TiVo owners. Congrats on being selected!

Now, when they return, please watch The Amazing Race and Family Guy for us, okay?

I signed up for this too, but the only thing connected to my land-line is the TiVo and DSL. I'm guessing I won't be selected as I won't be getting any calls.

I was selected about a month ago for the same program. I have a standalone TiVo. Even after reading the forms, I'm not sure what data they are collecting. They were pretty vague.

For the most part, I would agree with you. But, not when it comes to Amazing Race.

Amazing Race isn't a typical reality show.

It isn't a popularity contest to see who wins. Its a race.. You come in last, you lose(except for 4 weeks out of the 12-13).

That one is on my list to watch. Sorry Numanoid.

Vryce, good to know you'll watch Amazing Race. The rest of the reality genre I could do without, but I need my Amazing Race!

American Dreams, please. Tru Calling if they ever decide to air it.

Most everything else I watch is likely safe from cancellation. Amazing Race isn't going anywhere.
