DVDT very BADLY needs Forum Menu Redesign

For example, I wanted to pose a question to the forum re: Cases and Cover Artwork, and went to the main Forums page to locate it. Foruma Non Grata LOL

Can there possibly be any reason why the main forums page doesn't have a tree-structured list of the sub-forums visible at all times? It would so much easier than having to deal with the microscopic drop-down menus and/or a time-consuming search. If there hadn't been a post planted in DVD Talk that belonged in the Cases/Artwork sub-forum — and recently moved there — I wouldn't have been able to (comfortably) click my way to my destination.

Many is the time I have posted to one of the main hierarchical forums, not even realizing that there are entire families of sub-forums that narrow down the topic to my particular post. I can't see them. And the drop-down menu is very hard on my eyes — I would much rather DVDT simply put a nice, big, fat button that takes you to the Master Listing of all of the forums, so you can not only locate the one pertinent to your topic but explore other areas of interest.

I think this is a very critical recommendation for the board and I would hope that, if it is effected, there will be an announcement of same. Thank you!

No complaints here. I would suggest you change the size of your text, or change your screen settings.

I had the same problem, but it goes away after you're here long enough. You just kind of find out by trial and error....

When you visit <a href="http://dvdtalk.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=3">the main forum</a>, look at the space between the "<small>Moderated by: Gallant Pig, gkleinman, Static Cling)</small>" line and the heading list of Thread, Thread Starter, etc.

The dropdown at the bottom of the page also includes the subforums. The dropdown at the top of the page is static and won't necessarily reflect the current state of things.

First and foremost I added a link to the covers and cases forum area from the discription of the DVD Talk forum, a simple oversight not a 'sub-forum non grata'

I'll definately take your other comments into consideration after we upgrade to the next major version of the software which will enivitably lead to some sort of design tweak.
