Any reviews for Brannigan DVD with John Wayne?
I searched DVD Basen and here for reviews on Brannigan, and I could find none. If anyone could discuss the quality of the transfer (video and audio) and average bit rate, I would appreciate that. For instance, is it single or dual layer? If it's the latter then at least there's a good chance it will have a higher bitrate and better video quality.
Unfortunately I'm a fan of John Wayne... even on his mediocre movies. I say unfortunately because it often makes me buy his DVDs even when they are poor bare-bones releases. I've been very disappointed by the picture quality of some of the John Wayne DVDs released, such as Rooster Cogburn. I hope Brannigan doesn't fall into that category.
Thanks.

It does... Mediocre transfer. I kinda' liked the movie, though it's dated. Same with Widmark's Madigan. Loved the movie as a kid, but watched it the other day and just couldn't get past the hats...

Brannagin has a nice wide-screen image, but the hollow sound in mono does nothing for the film.
But, getting this DVD for under 10 bucks is worth it (which I think you can get at DDD).
