Syberia for the Xbox - anyone catch this?

For anyone interested, or for adventure junkies out there, this one seems to have slipped under the radar:

Syberia (XBOX) - $19.99 - Ships on 07/22/2003
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/236506.asp

This got great reviews (except from IGN, strangely enough) when it came out on the PC last fall, and a sequel is currently in the works. It has an 83% rating from GameRankings.com.

A $20 adventure game for Xbox? Sounds pretty good. The reviews I read looked pretty good. I guess you'd just move the cursor with the analog pad or something.

Was the PC version long enough?

The PC version was kinda short - like 10-15 hours I'd guess. It was good though. I hope they bring more true adventure games to the xbox - the console world is sorely lacking in this department... especially when they consider Mario an adventure game.

I do believe that this is the first time I've ever heard Mario called an adventure game. The "Headline" Mario games (such as Sunshine) are all platformers.

But I do think that the console world is perfect for the old-school PC adventure games. It seems that games of this nature are perfect for sitting and playing on the television.

And for $20 the price is right. The PC version is still on the shelves, don't know the pricepoint though.

PC adventure games don't usually transfer well to consoles. If this get good reviews I might pick it up though. I've always wanted to get Syberia for the PC but I don't think I can beat that price for the Xbox version. Now that I think about it actually this might be perfect for a rental.
