Question about THE EYE (Hong Kong Horror Film)
I just received my DVD in the mail of the HK Horror film, THE EYE, put out by PANORAMA ENTERTAINMENT. The place I ordered it from said it was ALL REGIONS on NTSC only, but on the back of the DVD, in the specs, it says "2" with a DVD circle icon, leading me to believe that it's Region 2.
But also next to it is a rounded square with a world map icon with the numbers "1 2 3 4 5 6" and the "NTSC" beneath it.
What I want to know before I open it is :
1) Is this for sure Region Free? Will it work on a Region 1/NTSC DVD player?
2) If it's Region Free, then what does the "2" icon mean? It isn't a 2-disc set that's for sure.
EDIT : Title because of incorrect origin of country

you may want to change the title of the thread because you may be misleading some people into thinking this is some kind of new movie, plus it's not accurate. The Eye is a HK Chinese movie, not Japanese.

Thanks for the further education, all I know is that I keep reading and hearing that it's "Japanese Horror" and I just ran with it without double checking.
According to the not-always-correct imdb.com, it is indeed a HK film. I shall edit the Thread Title.
