Good to hear the positive comments...I have this on preorder with Walk to Remember. Do not see too many movies in the theater....most are purchased on dvd upon release. I refuse to rent.....if I do not like a given movie I sell it on ebay. I usually have a pretty good feel for what I like so buying movies sight unseen is not usually a problem for me. With ebay at my disposal....my cost for the movie if I do not keep it turns out to be about the cost of a rental.

I really didn't like this movie at all. I whole heartedly agree that Darabont directed this movie with confidence, style and grace.
However, the story just drags and never builds. I agree with one reviewer who called the film "mawkish".
It had no bite. What made so many Capra films great is his criticical eye.

I thought it was good as well. It had a nice "homey" feel to it without getting too sappy. They missed the boat on the "big speech" though. I would have liked to seen and heard a much more impactive bit of writing. There was huge potential here, and while Jim Carrey's delivery was good, I think the screenplay only hit at about 6 of 8 cylinders on this scene.

I loved it, it was so nice seeing a great movie that wasn't usuing sarcasm and irony like a shield. All the performance were excellent, especially Carrey's and Landau's.
