Where are my pictures?
Okay so I take these pictures for a class project on Friday and drop them off at CVS on Sunday for 1 hour developing. I pick them up in the evening. Well I just opened them and pictures 1 through 8 aren't anywhere to be found! Not on the disk, on the index print, or as actual pictures themselves.
Is it possible that my first 8 pictures somehow were defective and they just left them out? Or did they screw up and REALLY mess me up? I need to know what the most likely reason is before I go ballistic on someone.

Places like CVS Photo and other drug stores usually develop pics via a computer. If it determines the picture to be unreadable, it won't even print it. If you have the negatives, you could try bringing them to a photo store or something...
I've had this happen with the photo counter at Walgreens.

Also, have you looked at your negatives? Are there any images for pictures 1 through 8? It's certainly possible that one of your negative strips got lost somewhere although it seems odd that 8 pictures would be missing since my negatives are usually cut into lengths of 4 pics. I guess they could have lost 2 of them, but I'm pretty sure that the index print (and other prints) get made prior to the negatives being cut into sections.
Again, describe what your index print looks like.
