Netflix now shipping out of flushing, NY

This is amazing. I sent back a dvd on Monday and on tuesday got the email saying they received it.

I was wondering what was going on until the next one came in 2 days. The shipping back adderess was Flushing, NY.

I am in NYC so this is great for me. One day returns.. awesome.

I assume by island you mean manhatten as no one from that other island in NYC would admit to it

well so much for knowing the NY area nicknames. Still new to the area give me a few more years and I will get it.

Then again considering that Manhaten and Staten Island are also Islands it seems silly for long Island to be "The island"

It's really simple... Long Island is referred to as "the island", Manhattan is referred to as "the City", and Staten Island is referred to as little as possible.

...and now Netflix might be worth trying for us "City" folk.

So now both the East and West Coasts are covered.
How 'bout a little love for us Midwesterners? wouldnt Chicago make another great shipping destination.

When I ship my netflix back they go to Minneapolis, MN which is great cause I live 40 miles from there, when I get new disks the return address I get them from is still San Jose, CA but they seem to get here pretty quickly (2-3 days)

If you're talking about the tear off & throw away envelope that is addressed to you, I believe they all say San Jose because that's where they're headquartered out of. The return envelope is where your discs are actually being mailed from.

Well, after everyone's recommendations, I've signed up for Netflix again. I guess we'll see how it goes. It taking three days to ship my supposedly instock titles didn't engender a lot of good will out of the pipe, but I guess we'll see how fast they come.

Netflix, this is your last chance.

East coasters, please keep us updated on how the service is doing with the new distribution centers. I for one am strongly considering another go around with them but would like to know whether turnaround time really is improving. I'm sure I'm not the only one... Thanks!

Great for me so far. I joined up about 3 weeks ago. I got my movies shipped to me and it arrived in 2 days. Then I mailed it back and 2 days later... another movie shipped!! Perfect for me so far, hope they keep it up

I've got return slips for Deluth, GA! I couldn't believe it - I took the CA return slips for granted, but after reading about the NY centers I checked, and yep - they say Deluth, GA. I live in Orlando, so it sure beats mailing to Cali. I put two dvds in the GA slips today, will post how long (or short!) it takes....

sorry, should read "Duluth"

I got my first one today. Return slip's to Santa Ana, CA.

Is there some secret, or is Neflix conspiring against me?

Just got one in today with the NY return address.

This kicks ass as I'm in Jersey and have been waiting for an east coast distribution center!

Woo Hoo!

If that is true about Duluth, that certainly would be great for people in Atlanta (and the southeast). I wonder why the Netflix website doesn't mention where their distribution centers are? I couldn't find the info and I would think that would be an issue with most customers. I don't belong, but would consider if there is a close center.

good point atlantamoi, but perhaps Netflix is thinking that if people know where the distribution centers are, a lot of people who aren't near any *won't* sign up. maybe they're assuming ignorance is bliss, especially for most people who aren't savvy enough to wonder where their DVDs may be coming from.

The two that I got today had a return address in Minneapolis, too. The movies I received last week still had San Jose on the return address.

I'm still not impressed. All of my first three news titles have finally arrived, the final one (a week after it was shipped) today. All are returnable to Santa Clara, CA. While it was nice to check out the features for the Nashville: SE, and Witness for the Prosecution, unless the turnaround time turns out to be something fantastic, I don't think I'll go another month.

Are you sure that it said Santa Clara, because I doubt that they would have a warehouse in San Jose and Santa Clara. Since they are on the border of each other. Are you sure that it did not say Santa Ana?
