Broken Street Date: The Church

I found a copy of Soavi's "The Church" at Best Buy today for $12.99. It's release date was, if I recall, 2/19.... so we're a few weeks ahead of time.

No "Stage Fright" to be found though....

Maybe someone besides me would be excited to get their hands on this movie early.

As these type of reports tend to be isolated incidents to individual stores and retailers, moving to the Store forum.

Thanks,

Found Stagefright and Hell Of The Living Dead at my Best Buy (Des Moines IA) both 12.99. Didn't see The Church though.

This isnt anything new at the BB here. I know for a fact that stuff gets put on teh shelves weeks before its release date. The lesser known the titles the better the chance of i going out early.

How do i know? I used to work there.

I was the only person who ever checked DVD's that came in on shipments for proper release date.

When Suspiria came out on DVD not to long ago, it sat on the shelf for an entire week before i worked again and noticed it on the self. And this was a title that was actually IN the weekly ad. I sent an e-mail to the general manager of the store about this incident and it was promtly ignored.

My tip of advice is to go in on days the store gets shipments (tuesdays and fridays i think, but fridays are best) and browse through the cart of dvd's they wheel around. i can guarantee you will find some smaller releases in there up to two weeks before they are suppose to be out on the floor.
