Will X-Wing Alliance run on XP?

I was thinking of picking this game up as I yearn for a little X-Wing action but I don't want to go through the trouble of creating a Win98 partition just to play one game.

Any other, more recent, space fighter sims out there worth looking into? Mission-based games are fine but I don't really have the patience for long, drawn-out scenario/storyline games.

Speaking about X-Wing Alliance... does anybody know if they will come out with a sequel/mission pack? The ending had almost no closure!

Mmm, I think I own this. If so, I'll install it tonight and see.

I know it works with Win 2000, I just re-installed it the other night...haven't tried it with XP though.

I found just one post on this subject from last July on Usenet and that poster indicated that it ran on 2000 for him but not XP. No one ever replied to his post so I don't know if his experience was an isolated on or not. I emailed him last night and he never did get it to work but suspects his video card might somehow be the culprit ( ).

Aghama, if you could try I would appreciate it greatly.

Justin: It runs fine on my machine (1.33 GHz Athlon, TNT 2 Ultra). Beware though: your robot companion is incredibly annoying.

Hey man, you went above and beyond checking into that for me. I surely do appreciate it!

Aghama-

Just as an FYI, I bought it and installed it and also had no issues. P4-1.8 with a 32MB NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 4X AGP.

Thanks again.
