Amazon-Breaking Street Dates and shipping orders not due out yet?WTF?

Recently I've had some orders ship at Amazon that are not due out yet. The first example is they shipped my order of "Josie and the Pussycats" DVD on Thursday .It arrived today after I got home from work.

Then last night I made some orders for one of the video series that is not out all the way on DVD called "Doctor Who". I woke up this morning and found that there were "Shipping soon". The videos are not even due out until September 11,2001! I'm tempted to send back the "Doctor Who" videos called "Day of thre Daleks" & "K9 and Company". Doctor Who fans on the board should I send them back?

Is something wrong Amazon's calender's? I know that the "Josie and the Pussycats" DVD is not due out until August 14,2001. The "Doctor Who" videos not until Septmeber 11,2001.

Can they get into trouble for breaking street date? Anybody else had any similar order problems like mine? Is there computers messed up? I'm thinking of seriously changing all my orders ther to Money orders/Check until they ca prove to me they will not break "Street Date".

Anybody know what is going on at Amazon at all? Anything?Has anyone heard anything at recently about them?

I'm not mad. I just was expecting to get them when they came out. I was not expecting my credit card to be charged early for either of these orders. Not 2 weeks early(for the "josie and the pussycats" DVD) and a month a half early for the "Doctor Who" videos.

i thought about the ehole "charging early" after I replied, but then I thought, If you switched to Money orders, then you would have to have the money even earlier and if you did a check, you can't post date it (legally) so there's no real point to all this...if you're that concerned over the charges (which I can understand because Im a full time student with limited funds so I'm practically checking my account every few hours to make sure I ahve some funds still) , then just wait until the night before street date to order them.

But I think I speak for most when I say I wish I had your "problem" with amazon.....

I wish they would ship some of my orders early, and I don't mind being billed earlier than expected. I think it would be nice to have the God Father set a few months early. If they did that than I might actually start liking Amazon again.

This happens to me all the time. Amazon sent me the Chocolat & Mexican DVD`s on August 1st. And the American Pie UE was ent on July 25th! So you see Amazon constantly sends me the DVD`s early but maybe it`s because i`m in Europe?? I won`t get them before Street Date anyway but still i like when Amazon ships things early.

Yeah, what is up with you? Amazon always shipped pre-orders for me late and I always got to hear my friends say how good the dvd was when they picked it up at the local B&M days earlier as Amazon shipped my order ponymail.

To my great surprise Amazon already sent me my copy of Marathon Man. That`s a nice 2 weeks ahead of schedule and hope it will arrive here soon.

I`m from Germany and I never get my orders shipped out early ! All international customers should make a petition so that Amazon sends the DVDs out way before the release date
