Aniplex of America’s Blue Exorcist volumes 3 and 4 are now up for pre-order and will each include 6 episodes, a backstage short movie Ura-Ex animation, next episode previews, textless opening and ending, “O-sleeve” DVD case, double-sided reversible DVD wrap, and double-sided poster. Volume 3 is scheduled for release on April 17, 2012 and volume 4 for June 29, 2012.

Previously listed, Volume 1 is currently available for purchase, and volume 2 is slated to street January 24, 2012.

We wanted to do the GE 999 series, but we were in the middle of the FOTNS and didn't want to take on another 100+ episode series at that time. Fist was a huge undertaking. There will be other classic series announced later this year.

We will be releasing another old CPM title with much better quality. Also we have some more never before released movies coming out. I should be able to name them shortly. We have more stuff from Toei coming also.

We're kind of bummed that we had to pass on GE 999 TV. Toei asked us if we wanted it but we had to decline at the time due to the amount of episodes. We decided to go with shorter series and more movies instead. Those 100+ series are very expensive to produce and release.

We're doing a Blu Ray later this year. We're only going to do them if it's a significant upgrade to the DVD version. It's a waste of money to just slap it on a disc. We would rather spend that money on more licenses.

It's too bad the Lupin set doesn't arrive until the summer but it will remain one of my most anticipated titles.

The Dirty Pair television series, OVA series, Project Eden and the two standalone OVAs (Affair of Nolandia and Flight 005 Conspiracy) are the first wave of anime adaptations to star the iconic heroines of the long-running Dirty Pair novels and short stories. All portions of the original Dirty Pair anime franchise feature production by Sunrise (Gundam, Outlaw Star, The Vision of Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop), while the TV and OVA series also feature production by Studio Nue (Crusher Joe, Macross).

The original Dirty Pair TV series and OVA series are now available as DVD sets, with remastered video, from Right Stuf’s Nozomi Entertainment. Nozomi also has plans to release the 1990s, alternate-universe series Dirty Pair Flash in 2012.

The Dirty Pair’s literary adventures – written by Haruka Takachiho (creator of Crusher Joe) and illustrated by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko (character design for Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam Unicorn) – have won two Seiun Awards for science fiction and inspired an array of media, including anime, radio series and English-language comics. Flower Mound, TX – January 26, 2012- FUNimation Entertainment, has officially confirmed they have suspended production of all future planned Blu-ray releases of Dragon Ball Z including Level 2.1 scheduled to be released on March 27, 2012.

Blu-ray editions of Dragon Ball Z went into production based on fan demand, however due to technical challenges of restoring from the original film frame by frame, we are unable to continue these releases by way of this process. FUNimation will be re-evaluating the current process and researching more efficient methods of restoration.

I saw it in theater (subbed) and loved it. The animation was good and even with the main racing storyline, I find the movie rather entertaining (and over the top as well). It has been a while though. I haven't gotten a chance to watch this on BD yet. There are enough reviews online now. You can see if it's something for you. While I don't think it's for everyone, I think it's worth checking out.

Transformers: Chôjin Master Force - Separate DVD Release of the 'Super-God Master Force' Set Announced

Coming to stores from Shout! Factory in early May

Previously available as part of a larger set, the folks at Shout! Factory have just announced that an individual release of Transformers: Chôjin Master Force - The Japanese Collection (NOTE: "Chôjin" = "Super-God," for these purposes) is on the way, and will be available as a 5-disc set (930 minutes) starting May 1st. An Amazon listing for the title has been posted, and is accepting pre-orders discounted from the $29.93 list price. Cover art (expected to be the same as seen in the big collection) and other details aren't available yet, but stay tuned!

Were those Marvel animes any good? From what I read, I got the impression the Iron Man one was a let down, but didn't hear too much about the X-Men one.
