Those last couple of minutes gave me goosebumps, so dramatic or not, it worked.

That's my worst fear for season three. Thirteen episodes dedicated to hunting for a baby that none of us give a shit about.

Jax included half the time. Hell..maybe Season 3 will just feature the nanny.

Go watch the History channel.
Of course it's a television show, a great one, and because of that I think it's ok to expect better from it. Maybe it wasn't this episode, but I'm sure you've seen episodes of shows you enjoy and felt "...wait, that doesn't make any sense" in the context of a show that detracted from your enjoyment of it. That's all this is. I don't think it's a matter of taking a show "too seriously", but when you're on a board that talks about TV shows, if one doesn't deliver, of course people are going to talk about that. That's why we're here right?

That's my issue. I just know the show and the people involved with it are better than what they delivered storywise in the finale. Just look at the previous 20 some episodes. There's a stark difference, obviously as it caused a similar reaction to a number of people, and when a show is as good as SoA has been, it becomes even more visible than normal when they stumble.

I know the episode had some minor inconsistencies, but it's better than a ton of plot holes. Everything that some of the people here are complaining about can be explained with real life excuses, some of you just don't want it to work

The highway is pretty representative of the area they're going for if you ask me. I assumed nobody was on Main Street because everybody was steering way clear of what they assumed would be a bloody situation.

And I would argue that no inconsistencies are better than some inconsistencies. Believe me, it's not about wanting the show to work or not (this isn't Lost). I've had pretty much a consistent love affair with this show from episode one, so it's not like I was looking for shit to gripe about, like say some Lost or Smallville viewers do for instance. The ep just didn't work for everybody is all, or at least hold up for me when scrutinized.

Interesting Season 3 casting announcement I just noticed:
Spoiler:

Hal Holbrook joins Sons of Anarchy

Four-time Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Hal Holbrook has signed up for a guest starring role on the upcoming third season of FX's critically acclaimed hit drama series Sons of Anarchy. Holbrook will appear in a four-episode arc, beginning with the third season premiere episode, which debuts in September.

Holbrook will play "Nate Madock," the father of Gemma Morrow Teller (Katey Sagal), with whom he reconnects through coincidental circumstances. As last season ended Gemma was on the run after being framed for murder.

Stephen King to Guest on 'Sons of Anarchy'
by Chris Harnick, posted May 7th 2010 11:20AM

Stephen King has been courted for television cameos before, and this time, it's actually happening: The horror author will guest on the third episode of the third season of FX's 'Sons of Anarchy' when it returns in September.

According to Entertainment Weekly, King will play a loner who appears to Katey Sagal's Gemma in her time of need. The deal came about after the producers learned the famous author was a fan of the show.

Last season, 'Sons' generated a good amount of buzz, enough to make it the second highest rated scripted cable series, averaging 4.5 million viewers per episode.

King is just one of many guest stars set to appear on the show next season. As we previously reported, Emmy-winning legend Hal Holbrook is joining the cast as Gemma's father in a highly anticipated four-episode arc.

Re: Sons of Anarchy -- "Na Trioblidi" -- 90 minute Season Finale

Wife and I just watched S1 & S2 over the last couple of weeks. Really enjoyed the series. We thought S2 really improved on S1 but I agree with a lot of the criticisms of the finale.

Stahl has some work to do to set up her story. There's no sign of a struggle and Polly & Edmund were killed with 2 different guns (ballistics wise). I know she's presented as Gemma killed Polly & then stole her gun and killed Edmund. I don't know how accurately time of deaths can be determined either but it seems like a possible inconsistency. Dexter would notice it.

Anyway, looking forward to S3 when it airs. Plenty of story lines to get through and finish. Georgie; Zobelle; Abel; Gemma; and Mayans.

Is Season 3 touted as the last? I sure hope not.

No Kurt Sutter, the creator of the show, says he has a 7 year story arc planned.

Damn! I hope they're able to see it through. I wouldn't mind if HBO picked up the series somewhere along the way so they wouldn't be restricted by cable standards.

Some behind the scenes for Season 3. Minor casting and thematic spoilers.

This has the potential to be an amazing season. Can't wait for September.

I just got into this and I'm all caught up (took only about two weeks..ha). What a great show. I just read the link above on casting for Season 3 and I can't wait for the reunion of sorts of the show
Spoiler:
Deadwood. Titus/Silas is back, Trixie and Calamity Jane are joining too! Let alone good old Unser/Charlie Utter will now be a series regular! Funny, the first thing I thought of when Unser's "Storage & Rental" truck pulled up for the Zobelle ambush was Utter's Postage & Freight from Deadwood. Kurt Sutter even mentioned being a big fan of his on Deadwood in the interview a few links above. I'd love to find out he's a decedent...ha.

Another article about the upcoming season here (some spoilers, obviously). Also includes a trailer that makes me predict awesomeness for Season 3.
