I just told customer service to cancel my whole order and I'd re-order the remaining one at the current deal. Let's see if they even write back.

2 days to go. I'm still waiting for the big blow out. It may also be that they have a deal in place with an overstock wholesaler to take all remaining stock, so it may be we won't see a last minutes $2 sale. It's getting pretty late in the game unless they extend the closing date.

I grabbed one last 2-CD set, Jerry Lee Lewis - Gold. It seems like an appropriate send-off picking up some of "The Killer" since YourMusic.com is killing the site.

Well this sucks, it is the B1G1 sale for the final day. I was hoping it would be a fire sale. I have a few inthe cart that I might even get at 3.99 each, but I'm afraid to pull the trigger and get burned on this deal like others were a couple of days ago.

I almost bought some stuff when the 399sale was supposed to be working... but the code didn't work.. by the time the code worked... I actually found everything that I would have bought cheaper used... like $0.90 w/free shipping from goHastings with their latest code ... so I didn't make that last yourmusic purchase...

What kind of condition is that GoHastings stuff? Scuffed/scratched? Do they guarantee that the item will play flawlessly? I've seen where they have some really cheap stuff there but most of what I've seen at those prices isn't very interesting to me but it may be worth checking out.

So far so good with goHastings.. but there are some horror storys by others on the board... since I bought 19 items this time, my chances of a goof are higher..

What is the free shipping code at goHastings? I never purchased with them but they must be the ones who list on Amazon marketplace.

I suppose this is the end of an era. I started coming to this site 4+ years ago looking for codes in the BMG threads and started posting the codes I found. I suppose I will see you all around in the music and tv boards.

I've purchased some DVDs from them and am only marginally satisfied. One was *supposed* to be new but I got a used rental (Blockbuster no less) copy instead. Another "used" copy was, yet again, a former Blockbuster rental copy (still in the Blockbuster box). When I purchase "used" I do *NOT* expect, nor want, a former rental from *any* company, no matter who the dealer is. The others have ranged from good to very good but you don't know what you'll get until it arrives. The ones I've purchased through the amazon marketplace from Hastings have been better and have accurate descriptions. The *big* drawback for me is that you can *not* return defective/unacceptable titles to a local store but have to deal with the joke they call CS and return by mail. If I use them again it'll only be through amazon (good experiences, even with CS) or just visit the local store, although local CS is not much better than online. I'll only use the direct gohastings site for a rare/oop/obscure title not available anywhere else.

Thanks again for all the BMG codes. You came up with a number of them that I wouldn't have known of otherwise.

I guess we're now down to haunting Amazon, Ebay & the Fye bargain bins.

For cheap box sets, 40% Off coupons from Borders.com are a decent deal.

Unfortunately, even with the 40% off coupons, it's still pretty easy to find the same item cheaper elsewhere.

I received my last day order yesterday. Of course, BMG had to give me one last cracked jewel case for the road.

They were notorious for that.

Sort of brings a tear to my eye. Ah the memories!

I never got my replacement jewel case for the cracked one. I guess those backorders are SOL.
