Go to their Daily Schedule and move ahead. Right now they are up to March 13th and films may change but it's usually pretty accurate.

Re: TCM Underground Movies
And they do sometimes change movies on the Underground. November was supposed to have a double feature of Times Square and Christiane F., but I guess they couldn't show the latter so they just showed less-than-underground Rich Kids in order to make it a Trini Alvarado double feature.
There was supposed to be a Waters movie, Desperate Living I think, that got shit-canned too.

Times Square and Christiane F.? Talk about going from the ridiculous to the sublime.

Van Damme makes his TCM debut tonight with Cyborg! Part of an Albert Pyun Double-feature (Bloodmatch being the other) btw, I noticed Underground changed its intro once again. I really liked the previous one a lot.

Good ol’ Silent Night, Deadly Night is set to appear late tonight! Anyone know if this is it’s debut on the channel?

Re: TCM Underground Movies
Poor presentation of Friday's blaxploitation movies last week. Black Samson had that "stuttering" error that showed up anytime the camera panned on anything. I've seen that before on TCM, when they showed Times Square back in '20. Then Melinda was shown open matte, 1.33:1.
Melinda was a really good movie though, would love a Blu in the proper OAR. And in one of those "wasn't that the guy..." moments, I thought that one of The Man's henchmen was that drunk guy in The Golden Child (where Eddie tells him "In my pocket there's a whole thing of Tic Tacs. Take....take....take as many as you need"), and a sleuthing visit to IMDb shows I was right. I like those little trivial victories.

Haven't watched Black Samson yet, but I enjoyed Melinda, which wasn't at all what I was expecting. Wasn't sure if it was shot 1.33.1 or if they didn't have an OAR copy of the film.
I was impressed when I looked up the director of Melinda afterwards and saw he was the editor of Midnight Cowboy.

Yeah, Melinda was one of those happy little surprises, a movie you don't expect to be that good. It's not perfect; could have used a little trimming of the running time, 1:49 is a bit long for that kind of film. Should have taken it down to an even 100 minutes, maybe even just 90.
As for the aspect ratio, I'm pretty sure it was shot 1.33:1 and matted for the theater. Because halfway through, as a goof, I hit the "zoom" function on my TV, and everything seemed to be framed correctly still, no heads were cut off, etc.

I wonder how it'll effect the block going forward. Underground has been one of the better things on TCM along with Eddie Muller's Noir Alley. Maybe they should shed some of the extra hosts they got. That or sell more wine.

Re: TCM Underground Movies
So disappointed. Underground is what got me to subscribe to TCM. I know nothing lasts forever, but saddened the entire channel is probably on its way out.
There's so many fascinating movies I watched on Underground I doubt I would have seen otherwise:
Lady Streetfighter
Skidoo
Taking Tiger Mountain (Bill Paxton getting an unsimulated blowjob! I had no idea)
She Freak
Robert Downey Sr's filmography
Funeral Parade Of Roses
Look In Any Window
Private Parts
The Velvet Vampire
Born In Flames
I Was A Teenage Zombie
Scream, Queen!
Zardoz
Queen Of Blood

Re: TCM Underground Movies
Figures. Probably to save money on licensing the movies. Why not re-tool the block for Sci-fi/Horror they have in the library? Whatever. Plenty of alternatives on Twitter for bad/cult movie fan viewing.
