DVDCoverart has been FOX'ed....
From the Main Page of DVDCA
"like many Simpsons and Buffy fan websites before us, dvdcoverart has been told by Fox to remove any items (ie, covers) which infringe on their copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property. I am attepting to negotiate a mutually benefical arrangement with Fox, but am not overly optimisic about the outcome. In the meantime, we will be complying with their demand and removing the covers over the next few days. So get them while they are hot (and still available)"
This sucks, but what can you do...

I think this is what many feared would happen when DCA grew in size and popularity. I wouldn't be too surprised if this proves to be just the beginning of 'Cease and Desist' efforts from the studios. I sincerely hope that isn't the case, but it seems to be the usual pattern of events in these cases. Just be glad DCA doesn't have the kind of exposure file-sharing sites have. Oh well, on the bright side at least you won't have to sift through a million Five Star Collection covers now...

Well Matt mentioned on DVDCA. Let's just treat this as an isolated incident. There's no reason for a panic just yet.....Fox has always been a little picky when it comes to this sort of thing...Other studios seem a little more lenient....
If any other company were to do the same thing it would be Disney.

I'm not surprised. It was a matter of time. The site simply did not stay under the radar. Perhaps we'll be back to doing it underground again. We will have wait & see what happens with other Studios.

It seems as if our hobby has become so big that people are taking notice. Many of the custom covers far exceed the quality of the studios covers. I do miss the days of the forum members sharing their mutual love for a perfect cover and not having any standards other than our own taste.
Well, I am off to DVCA to get the covers I have been waiting to download.

Does anyone have a listing of the best Fox covers to get right now while there's still available? I have the DD one in my cart right now as we speak. It's awesome! This is my first purchase on the coverart site and I think I will be hooked and I hate to miss out on some of the other cool Fox title covers. Thanks!

There were some hinting but apparently the ppl that know what happened arn't allowed to talk about it. That usually means money was involved and in this case that would be towards Fox.
Or I could be completely off base, what do I know.
