I'll go with Closely Watched Trains, though Persona is an equally good choice.

How about 1965 and before? We've got a long way to go before we get to before my time.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Taylor and Burton are perfection in this movie.

only seen two that were mentioned so far and The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly takes it over Torn Curtain by a sizable margin. the film from 1966 that i would most like to see is Blow-Up.

one thing i've noticed, not a single "declared winner" in these polls so far is a comedy. i'm sure other people have noticed this (and possibly mentioned it)... i have a strange feeling that as we get earlier and earlier, we will start seeing a reverse into more comedies than otherwise (like Some Like It Hot and Bringing Up Baby - two of my favorite films ever)..

I've only seen TGTB&TU, Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf, Persona, and Batman.

1. Who's Afraid of Virgina Wolfe.
2. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

We've got a clear winner here, a clear second, and plenty of choices to go around after that...

1) The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (15 votes)
2) Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (7)
3) Blow-Up / Closely Watched Trains (3 each)

This one is ready to be closed!
