This was officially announced a month ago on Jimmy Fallon, but it looks like there's a lot more details this morning and a trailer this morning.
This game looks absolutely wild from the trailer.

Some details from Kotaku:
http://kotaku.com/5537335/its-like-m...torms-creators
"It's the Burnout of shooters, with a little bit of Duke Nukem," Epic Games' design director Cliff Bleszinski said, "and a little bit of Firefly and Serenity on top."
Big picture, Epic wants you to play with your food rather than eat it. You're awarded points for creative chain attacks - for example, shooting a foe in the balls and then putting him out of his misery with a headshot gets you a mercy-kill, worth more than just a standard headshot. The points you accrue from these attacks go to weapon upgrades, which enable even more cool attacks and, Epic hopes, an upward spiral of creative mayhem for the user.
I doubt many people played Painkiller, but it was pretty fun and went for some more unique weapons and throwing tons of enemies at you more akin to Serious Sam then what we see in shooters nowadays. As long as all the chain attacks here don't get repetitive, this could be a pretty fun single and multiplayer experience.

Re: Bulletstorm - (Epic Games/People Can Fly - 360/PS3/PC) TBD 2011
In the May issue of Gameinformer they have a large article about this with several screen shots. The large open worlds are a sight to behold. The combat system...The leash, kick and slide and of course guns. All looked great until I read that People Can Fly and Epic Games are shooting down co-op. You have your main character and he has one of two sidekicks always with him. Shame on the co-op bit...

Had to watch the trailer again and it's impressive alright. The on screen points sytem and look has a bit of Borderlands in it with a added Serious Sam and touch of Just Cause 2 Grapple using the leash. But still...with those large open world areas this game cries for at least two player co-op

Bulletstorm Adds Co-Op Anarchy Mode
From Co-Optimus
Being a Cliff Bleszinski project we were wondering where the co-op for BulletStorm was when the game was announced. It turns out it was just sitting aside, waiting to be unveiled for the co-op loving gaming community. In an interview with Cliffy B., PlaystationBlog.com covers the details on this exciting new development.
BulletStorm is a bit of a trend breaker in the realm of violent shooter video games. For one thing, it won't be featuring a versus mode - instead, it will be utilizing a style similar (but not identical to) to Epic Games Gears of War 2's Horde Mode. This mode in the world of storming bullets, is called Anarchy.
Anarchy will have players working together to not only survive, but to achieve a certain score to progress through the waves of enemies. Not only will players have their own skill shots at their disposal, but cooperative skill shots as well.
To get a better look at what Anarchy is, complete with Cliff Bleszinski commentary, check out the video below and rejoice! For there is ultra-violent co-op on the way. (Beware, There is no split-screen planned for local players, sorry peoples!)

I saw this on Joystiq about the ESRB rating, which is pretty funny.
http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis...tificate=30438
http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis...tificate=30438
Rating: Mature
Content descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, Use of Alcohol
Rating summary:
This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a space pirate who must escape a planet populated by mutant cannibals. Players use futuristic machine guns, shotguns, magnum revolvers, assault rifles, and chain guns to perform over-the-top kills that dismember and decapitate foes. Injured enemies emit large sprays of blood that stain the ground and surrounding walls. Specialty kills (i.e., Skillshots) represent the most intense instances of violence: enemies can be dismembered with explosives; impaled on spikes; and drilled into walls, resulting in body parts breaking into pieces. During the course of the game, players can consume alcohol and kill enemies in order to receive an Intoxicated Skillshot; the screen turns blurry during these sequences. The dialogue contains numerous jokes and comments that reference sexual acts, venereal diseases, and having sex with one's mother (e.g., "Guess I know where the ol' gal got that limp."). The names of some Skillshots are infused with sexual innuendo (e.g., Gag Reflex, Rear Entry, Drilldo, Mile High Club); one Skillshot (i.e., Fire in the Hole) allows players to shoot at enemies' exposed buttocks. Language such as "f**k," "sh*t," "p*ssy," and "c*ck" can be heard in dialogue.

Looks cool but I'll have to pass with mature content like that. Too many kids in the house that I don't need repeating some of those lines. Sad thing is they will probably end up playing it at a friends house.

1. Dust off the Gears of War art
2. add some cursing
3. ?????
4. profit
if i was 10 years old the cursing would be cool, but at my age i've seen it all and need something else to get me interested in another game where you shoot others

This game is at the top of my most wanted list. The in game footage is just insane. Glad to see a demo coming. The only gripe so far is no-co-op but will have a horde type mode. A two playe co-op would've been icing on the cake. In the story mode you hae a side-kick along so can't see why no-co-op. Looks like a blast....
