I rented Winback for the N64, and was not impressed. I thought it was a lame Syphon Filter / Metal Gear wannabe.
Don't know if the PS2 version would be much better.
I have both of the others on PS2:
Kessen is a strategy game. Give your orders and watch the soldiers go. It plays like a PC wargame. Also, once you get the hang of it, the actual gameplay time is SHORT. (lots of FMV history / background)
Dynasty Warriors 2 is an action game. It's like playing Final Fight on a Braveheart battlefield. Your guards will follow you to whichever part of the battlefield you choose to attack, changing the direction of your troops advance, but there isn't much real strategy. Gameplay is mostly just button mashing.
Depends on your taste in games, but I don't know that I'd really recommend any of the three at $40. There are better games available...

I played the demo for Dynasty Warriors 2 for a good while, and have been waiting for my brother to get the game. Yes, strategy is minimal, but there's an oddly satisfying feeling to, in the middle of a huge battlefield, being the one badass who is single-handedly turning the tide.

I'm playing KESSEN now and I think it's a cool game.

I liked the control on Winback a lot better than on MGS. The story was very weak in comparison to MGS. The level layout was pretty bad. They just threw as many guys at you as possible in hopes of eventually killing you.
