Very cool, but if you go into it with a typical death match mentality, you may find your playing time very very short. Team work is the key, and finding a server that dosn't have a bunch of morons trying to blast everything in sight can be quite frustrating.

Counter Strike is a lot of fun -- and remember it's a free download -- no reason to buy it unless you have a slow connection. http://www.counter-strike.net

Also for a really fun (and very fast) server -- I've played here continously for about the last 2 weeks check out 3rdOct's server -- http://www.3rdoct.org has their ip address on it.

Agree with Trout. You have to find a good server or it won't be much fun. Also, once you die you do not respawn immediately. You have to wait until the round is over.

One thing I LOVE about CS is the level design. Specifically the art direction. Just awesome concepts and execution. The Italy stage is mind-blowing.

However, you should know that there are similar mods for Unreal Tournament and Quake 3. Pretty much the same experience but with better graphics. They can only get better while I think CS is pretty 'maxxed' out.

Seriously, this game rocks- I've been addicted to it for a long time and play almost every night, but beware, there are a lot of immature players out there...
