Keeping their very impressive streak alive, 989 is coming out with a snowboard game for the PS2. If not having the most "distinctive" football, hockey and basketball games out there wasn't enough, they're obviously ready to add that 989 touch to the breakneck sport of snowboarding. Check out the screenshots in this article:

Now let's see EA sports come out with a snowboarding game that's better than that.
;)

I've seen year old dead and rotting syphllitic goat carcasses that looked better than that game.

989 studios sucks ass!!

I swear they will release a pile of shyte if they think they could sell it at 19.99!!

just about every one of there game was "filler" to the psx.

they make simply terrible games. the twisted metal series died with them!

god. one of the worst video game makers around!

Keeping their very impressive streak alive...
ROTFLMAO! Ok sorry, but so far their lineup for the PS2 has been atrocious. Their basketball game was bad, and Gameday looked bad for a PSX game, and played like crap. I'm not exactly looking forward to anything else they're coming out with.

989 didn't even bother finishing any of their first PS2 games. Its obvious that the products they released for $50
each were only about 70% finished. The AI in Gameday is a total joke. 989 is the worst game publisher period. Even Acclaim, Midway, and 3DO have more credibility than 989 and thats not saying much for them.

Sorry, but that is the funniest thing I've heard all day. And isn't 989 Studios just one of Sony's in-house teams anyways? Come on...let's go play some NFL2K1 now and see how a football game is supposed to be done.

Drixorial 03-27-01 05:19 AM

yeah I've been rather underwhelmed with 989's efforts when it comes to their PS2 sports games, Gameday and Gamebreaker 2001 were probally the worst sports games I've ever played, thank God for EA ;)

Uh, I hope you people realize that original post was tongue in cheek, right? It's called "sarcasm", you can look it up. Still, releasing that many turds in a row is a fairly impressive streak.
How can 989 put out so many, so lousy games? It's beyond me. Aren't they owned by Sony? Didn't they get a devolpment kit? It sorta boggles the mind.

I totally agree that 989 is a horrible developer. However, I do look forward to a new Syphon Filter game on the PSX2. Hopefully they will break their streak of crappy releases when it eventually comes out. Does anyone have any information on a new Syphon Filter game? Thanks in advance.

Hey Syphon Filter (at least the original) is a really fun game.

I enjoyed both Syphon Filter games quite a bit. I wouldn't mind a new edition for the PS2.
