Hi, there was a thread I think a few weeks back, but I couldn't find it of someone's PS2 playing the subtitles everytime they started a DVD. Is the thread closed and did this person find a fix to your problem? My friends PS2 will automatically start the subtitles on the MIB DVD only, any ideas why?

It does it for some titles. I think it's built in some DVD's, though I could be wrong.

Yeah, there is a "default subtitle state" attribute on all DVD discs, IIRC. The problem lies in the DVD.

You need to reconfigure your DVD playback settings. Set the DVD player to subtitles off.... Damn, I forgot exactly how to permanently change the settings. Something about opening the disc tray while the DVD is in and going to the DVD on the browser... Anyone remember how to change those DVD setting????
