Well, so far the game play is great... i played for about 2 hours... got up to the cow and the prune juice scene...

So far, the game is living up to all that i expected and more...
I have 54 video clips of the game (316MB) and I thought I would have gotten just about all the "good" parts... but no, there is a lot more...

The only thing I haven't seen yet is the Saving Private Ryan scene... but then I haven't looked for it

Nice to hear the game living up to its rep. I'm picking it up on Friday! Here is a funny story about a lady picking up CBFD for her son and not reading the "WARNING: This game not suitable for anyone under 17" on the label.

Read the dang label lady! "It's a video game, so it must just be for 10 year olds". It's the same logic that some people apply to all cartoons. If it's animated it MUST be intended for children. "Junior's watching 'Heavy Metal'? Well, it's animated, so it must be OK."

How hard would it have been to take a few seconds and actually LOOK at what you're buying?

What was up with that story. Perfect Dark was the first one that they noticed had graphic violence? I guess those Russkies in Goldeneye clutch their throats, gurgling and tremble in a fetal position, bleeding on the floor because it feels good.

The son is 15! Why would the mom really give a sh!t if her son's that old? I could see it if the kid was 10 or so but 15?! Jeezeus...

"It's like Disney releasing pornography."
I like this line.. man, they think that Nintendo has to be soo squeaky clean. Thats why it is a 3rd rate gaming system.

I love the fact that Kay Bee won't carry it. Of course if you want to go on a shooting spree in Quake III, Resident Evil, or Perfect Dark you will have no problem buying a copy. Nice irony considering whats going on in our schools today.

This game has a good mix of it all... the language is hysterical... they say things in the game we can't even post here... and the "gore", although cartoonish, is very graphic... when you get killed in multiplayer, your head gets totally blown off and blood squirts out of your neck... it is really kinda neat...

I give Rare a HUGE thumbs up on this game... this and Perfect Dark are my two fav's for the N64... I only hope it keeps getting better!

Well, I am now about 15 hours into the game... Damn is it addictive...

I finally found the Saving Private Ryan scene, and it is a lot longer than the clip I downloaded...

The game continues to surprise me...

It is pretty hard too... there have been a couple of times where I got "stuck" and had to work at it for a while to figure out the hell to do...

Anyone else got/playing this game?

I picked it up and yes its a very hard game. Rare loves the fact that most people will never finish their games. Its a great game and the humor is top notch. Its worth getting through the tough bosses just to see what will happen next.

I'm stuck on the part were I have to cut the electrical lines before the water level rises. 0-20 so far. I guess I need to stick to RPGs. The only one of these 3D platform games I have ever finished is Mario 64. I just don't have the knack for action games I did in the 80's.

Damn you Americans with your release dates that come before ours

Does anyone else get the impression that Conker and Banjo-Tooie are going to be the last ever "big" games for the N64? The releases by every other manufacturer seem to be drying up to less than a trickle, and AFAIK there aren't any other eagerly anticipated titles scheduled, so are these two going to be the last big N64 games ever made? That would suck in a way, but if it means that Rare are going to divert their attention towards the Game Cube, it's got to be a Good Thing.

Get up a bunch of friends and play "Beach" multiplayer, from both sides and the computer AI on Einstein. I've found I'm pretty lethal with a bazooka.

They probably are. Rare was supposed to release one more "ultimate" game for the N64, Dinosaur Planet. However, the N64 version has been canned and it will now be a Gamecube launch title. I think there may be one or two amazing games left in Japan that could be imported, but otherwise the system is deader than Elvis.

I traded some DVDs for a system a few months ago. Waiting until I can find Perfect Dark on the cheap then it'll have been worth it.

Like I said. I am very out of practice on these types of games. However, Rare does pride itself on making their games more difficult than the average gamer can handle. Banjo, Conker, and Donkey Kong 64 are much more difficult than Mario 64 or Zelda OOT in my opinion. I finished both Mario and Zelda without many problems at all, yet on Rare games I seem to get stuck at every turn. Could just be me though.

I'd have to say hands down that this is my favorite game since Metal Gear Soild and Zelda: A Link to the Past. A perfect mix of superb story and perfect gameplay. It's also probably the most well written and voice acted game. MGS for all it's worth had some really cheesy lines in some parts and tending to get corny in others(how the bosses pontificate near death). This game had me rolling more then any movie has in a long time as well. A great way to send the N64 off with some dignity.
