Will this play old-school Gameboy games too?
I cant seem to fina any info on this, can someone send me a good link to a good reference on it. |
There's virtually nothing that Game Boy Advance can't do. It is fully compatible with all pre-existing Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. Four — not two — FOUR Game Boy Advances can link up for incredible multiplayer action, occasionally requiring just one Game Pak. For certain games, Game Boy Advance will have the ability to serve as a Controller for Nintendo GameCube as well. Are you beginning to see the potential here? I'd better not have to spend another night outside of WalMart to get one of these... |

As for playing regular GB games, it will, although a little differently. The screen on the GBA is a smidge wider than a standard GBC. From what I have heard, it will "strech" the picture ever so slightly to fill the screen. |

Originally posted by Deftones17 The only one game for 4 multi-player thing won't happen very much, if at all. Thinking about the economics behind it, Nintendo would much rather sell 4 carts than just 1. http://pocketmedia.ign.com/media/pre...oremario_4.gif As for the economics of this function, well when the person who owns the "one" game goes home, the other three people will need (want) to buy their own version. :) Brilliant Nintendo! |
Originally posted by CreatureX There have already been quite a number of confirmations on games supporting the "one cartridge mulitplayer" function. All the Nintendo launch games will support this function. Here is a shot of Mario Advance showing this function at work. The "host" GBA is sending its information to the other cartless GBAs Also of note: NCL's page explaining the different game modes seems to clear a few things up about the "Classic" four-player mode. We all know about the "Battle" mode: four players can all run off a single cartridge, competing against each other for coins. Well, it seems that the Classic mode is the normal version of Mario Bros., except with four players in the game instead of the two originally available. Yes, this is cooperative gameplay! ... The only downside is that the Classic mode will require each player to have his or her own cartridge. |
