Well, the title pretty much says it all. As a fairly new dreamcast owner, should I plop down the $20 to buy Crazy Taxi now, or should I wait until this summer for Crazy Taxi 2?

Thanks,
Rich

BUY NOW! Why wait when you can play the classic?

although I hate the term, Crazy Taxi is definately a "must-have" (*sigh*) game for dreamcast owners.

I agree. I bought Crazy Taxi the day I got my Dreamcast (just a few weeks ago actually) and am very glad. If this was the only game I could play on my DC it would still be worth having!!! (like those old dedicated PONG machines )

If you only have a Dreamcast then I suggest you buy it right now. It's a fun game. If you also have a PS2 then you might want to wait until next month when I believe Acclaim is going to rellease it on the PS2. Although it will probably be the same game it may have better graphics, although graphically the Dreamcast version is already very good.

Buy it. Part 1 is set in San Francisco and has different characters from part 2, which is set in New York. I think that will give it a slightly different feel. But, if you suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, you may not want to play this as it is addictive as hell and VERY hard on your wrists. The advanced moves you must master to really perform in this game require favor hand/finger movements that will mess up your hands.

---
Pro-tip: Pressing "start" will pause the game.

I say for 20 bucks go for it. I paid 50 and have no regrets. I will check out the PS2 version but I still want my vga adapter if that ever happens.

Does this game play well on the DC standard controller, or is it better to use a steering wheel controller?

It plays great with the standard controller. Never tried with a wheel, but since it's more of an arcade game anyway it seems appropriate...

I bought Crazy Taxi last week and dont regret it at all. Forget the stupid steering wheel. Just use a standard controller with a jump pack and youre set.
