I was hoping for a mod chip that would allow us to play Region 2 movies on the PS2. Note that Sony is going to be very aggresive about Mod Chips for games. I don't know how they are planning to do it though. Perhaps the updates built into new games may be one way. I guess we will see.

Hopefully the incorporation of the Gameshark will keep us one step ahead of the Spider :)

Ok. Finally got the Neo2 chip installed. Results have been iffy. I've not had success with playing backups of my EA sports titles (which is half of everything I have! - Tiger Woods, Madden, SSX, NHL, Fifa). I have had success with Starfighter, Ridge Racer, Final Four, & Unreal Tournament. Timing is an issue on the EA sports titles and I may just be failing to get it right.

It's not the complete solution but I sure as hell feel better about it spinning a 20 cent cdrom as opposed to a 50 original in light of the many laser scratching issues, etc.

I thought modchip posts weren't allowed at DVDtalk, has the policy changed?
