Donkey Kong Bananza (Switch 2) - 7/17/25
Well since we had our extensive Nintendo Direct, I figured we needed a Donkey Kong Bananza official thread.
Game looks remarkable. What's widely suspected, yet still not confirmed, is that it's the Mario Odyssey team working on this game. Having Odyssey's Pauline would seem to be another data point suggesting it's the same guys. For whatever reason, Nintendo remains silent on who is making it. In either case, the game looks amazingly fun! Nintendo Direct : Also the Donkey Kong & Pauline Amibo is up for pre-order now, for $29.99. One thing I found really cool and surprising is compatibility with the Super Nintendo World Power-Up bands. Granted, like most amiibo the abilities in game seem to be really limited. But it still cool they though of this cross play thing with the theme parks.

That's great news for Bananza that it was the Mario Odyssey team. Not so great news for Mario Odyssey 2.

Same. I'm still fully hooked on Fantasy Life, so I'll have to make a tough decision tomorrow when my copy of this arrives.

some of the reviews are so glowing. saying best SW2 game thus far and so many other raves. I'm off tomorrow so I can't freaking wait for what seems to be a really fun and great game.

I haven’t played any DK games since the OG Country back in the day (no interest) but this one I am looking forward to almost as much as my kids.

So excited about this. Easy bosses at the beginning and only ramp up in toughness at the end on Normal mode means I should be able to clear most of the game on assist mode if not the whole thing and get my money's worth. And it sounds highly replayable. REALLY excited about just health bar vs defeat minions bop in head 3 times repeat four times while lava dances around you.
This is the first ever Nintendo digital game I've preordered and it's already loaded onto my SW2. I'll be firing it up at 9p tonight!!! |
