I'm now chapter 9 and a little over 50 hours. I thought FFXVI was great but this blows it out of the water and is a massive improvement over part 1. Never really connected to much with Final Fantasy music but this one has some amazing tunes.

FFXVI has the best music ever in a FF game. The music in FF7 Rebirth is great as well. It’s all iconic remixes.

I mentioned it in the 16 thread, but if you like the music from that game, check out the decade plus of music from FF14 which was all done by the same composer. Tons of it is available on whatever music streaming service you may use.

This is one of the rare 50+ hour games that has not wore out its welcome for me. I'm starting chapter 12 and 70+ hours in and still can't put it down.

I finished the main story at just under 91 hours. Still has a dozen side quests I didn’t do plus a lot of other stuff. My guys were level 49.

Just wrapped it up at 92 hours and did like 95% of the content. Only stuff I really didn't do was the quests related to getting high scores in Gold Saucer or other minigames. The final 2 chapters are the weakest of the game and was not a fan of the final boss fight but not enough to keep me from loving the game as a whole.

I wonder if, once Part III is released, Square Enix would release a mega deluxe version, as one continuous game.

I doubt it. A boxset definitely but one continuous game no. Remake feels and plays quite a bit different from Rebirth and I can't imagine 5+ years from now how the final game will play.

I would imagine we will see part three in 3-4 years at the most.
