Remnant II.....

Hello All

I thought there was a thread on this but surprised it wasn't so started one. I didn't get the game when it came out; like others had too many other games in the bin trying to play and catch up on. But the game got some good reviews overall and still after a few months of release not getting much in the coverage area. A couple of friends got it and really played the heck out of early on but two slowly went other ways leaving a frind wanting to play...coop...but no-one so I ended up getting it the other day. So hoping anyone who has played it had tips, advice, insight to the starting classes, etc....I've seen the videos and all and it's...differnt....especially from the first one which I tried day one but the A.I was just hard as heck and we gave it up...

Bought this day one and dropped it maybe a few hours in. It was just way too fucking hard and thus not fun.

If you decide to try again, you can join us. We went in last night and got to Level 4...Medic. We're doing Survivor Mode and my friend said all of them really struggled solo and made a world of difference doing it in a group. There were three of them playing but the other two slowly went off to other games and she said she did try but it was hard and not worth it. So I got it, she's in my game helping and wasn't bad at all...but it's a weird game all right...I can't tell a bit of Dark Souls, Doom, Resident Evil or all three....

Is this like a soulslike similar to Elden Ring? I saw the ign review and they didn’t mention at all and certainly didn’t look like those tough souls games. This looked fun. And, gorgeous. Just wondering if for me if I don’t like the soulslike type games.

The game play isn't so much Souls Like...but the difficulty can be or at least what many think and say especially at first going out. I get a bit of Doom, Resident Evil vibes here. But so far I like what I see...it's different for sure. from what my friend was saying, there's a lot of hidden stuff to explore, puzzle areas, small to big bosses, various dungeons types, a lot of random encounters. And...each person's starting story can be or not the same....Like 'Souls Like Games"...there are classes and various builds....lots of different resources and things to collect, upgrade weapons and armor, can use various combinations of armor....

Re: Remnant II.....

I don’t recall the options but it would haves been the default or easy.

I sort of feel your pain on that one...I went out just to explore and didn't make it too far....and I'm on like...Easy...Survivor. In fact my friend who is helping me and I think she's up in the Level 16 or so...she's on Survivor as well and pretty loaded out. I guess the game is like say Diablo III...you start out low, gain better gear and resources then try higher difficulty...get better gear, go up again in difficulty and get even better gear...bnecause I was told a lot of areas you can go back in and at higher difficulty has better awards.

And FWIW, if you want to ever try it again, we welcome another player....My friend said they had a good time when three of them was playing and all started the same time so they all leveled up the same. All Loot is shared except for ammo...so even now when ammo drops we ask each other do you need this?....I use a Long Range Submachine Gun and she uses a Special Handgun so usually no deal.....

Appreciate the offer, but I don't see myself ever going back to this one. But if I have a change of heart I will hit you up.

Re: Remnant II.....

Remnant II scales enemies based on your gear level, even worse than the first game did. You are punished for upgrading anything. Last I read, upgrading your gear to +3 only (until you are at the final boss) was considered ideal.

Scaling really ruins what could be a good game.
