I thought this was well known, but maybe not.

Even the trophies/achievements are tied to MW2 as DLC.

I don't agree with the campaign review for MW2 from IGN. MW2's campaign is the second best campaign in the entire series. As short as the campaigns are for these games, MW2 is worth buying for the campaign alone.

As for the X guy saying it's just an expansion, wrong again, I played the multiplayer beta and the game feels like a new version. I've heard mixed things about the campaign for MW3 though, that doesn't surprise me.

He is not wrong, this was originally DLC for MW2 but they felt it was big enough to make it a full game - but somehow they didn't reflect that in the achievements/trophies.

Correct but only the map pack was the DLC. They just ended up creating an entire new game......but, in my opinion, this was always the case and they lied about the two year cycle for MW2 to get more sales of course.

You can do the Buy 3, Cancel 1 trick at Target and get this for $45. Right now its for preorder shipped to house and won't arrive till next week; when it's in stores, you can also do that method for in-store pickup.

I just wrapped up the MW2 campaign and it was excellent. The MW3 campaign and it plays like a story driven warzone mode. I'm only 3 missions in and it's fine. Not awesome like 2 for sure.

I'm playing the campaign for MW3... Warzone is the 1 v 100 mode (like Fortnite). It has drops of ammo, kill streaks and other goodies that, until this campaign, have been sort of proprietery to that mode. Now that it's part of a story driven campaign, it just feels like a big commercial for Warzone.

Yeah but they gave UFC 5 which is beyond a shit game like a 9 - I don't pay attention to IGN anymore.

And let's be clear : As I mentioned almost a week before OB decided to mention it as well, IGN gave the CAMPAIGN a 4. The rest of the game is currently unrated by any review site.

And they only gave MW2 (2022) a six or something. To each their own of course but even if you weren't crazy about the MW2's campaign, it's at least and 8, but like I just said...the never ending circle of opinion lol.

With that said, I am kind of worried I won't like 3's campaign based on some things I'm hearing.

It's important to realize that these games are primarily designed for multiplayer and many of these single-player campaigns are almost after-thoughts.

I remember back in the day by buddy and I would play tons of the co-op Spec Ops missions. They haven't done those two-person cooperative modes in a long time, right? I never played CoD this generation.

Does the story from MW2 carry over to 3, like a sequel? I haven't played 2 yet which is why i'm asking. i certainly will play 2 before 3 if there is context.

I think a lot of primarily Online MP games won't have many reviews at launch because the websites want an accurate experience of playing the game online before they give a final overall score.

And, I thought the single player campaigns in the original MWs were stellar and ones that I plan to revisit. MW 1 new edition, I’ll never touch again. It was short and pathetic. But, I’m willing to give new MW 2 a shot and I guess 3.
