Days Gone
Fun game. I came down with covid over the holidays, so I couldn't visit family, and passed a ton of time playing through this.

after all these years still HBS Battletech. Currently with the Roguetech mod
also installed Europa Universalis IV a week or so ago. Only played a little bit
and on my Piboy DMG and Linux virtual machine with retropie installed (and rsync keeping the save games available to both devices so I can play on either and pick up where i left off) I recently replayed Phantasy Star 1, Golden Axe Warrior, and have started Phantasy Star 2

I'm currently playing A Short Hike. I actually beat it last night, but I'm going to go trophy hunting now. I'm also playing God of War PS4 version.

Days Gone is pretty divisive, although I’m not sure how much of that was the way the game was at launch versus the significantly polished version after tons of patches.
I played the rougher hewn version and generally enjoyed it, though I acknowledge some of the gripes (especially the repetitive, try-too-hard dialogue). My biggest gripe is the same one I had with Ghost of Tsushima; it’s just so big that it feels like the first game in a franchise plus its sequel crammed into one. I was pretty exhausted by the time I got to the final stretch, not that it stopped me from platinuming it.
I haven’t played anything so far this year, but I’m expecting that to change this week. No idea what it’s going to be, though! Probably Gotham Knights, Sonic Frontiers, or maybe Last of Us Part I.

I only played the polished version after picking it up on Black Friday for $19.99, but it was very buggy when it released. I think all the problems with the day 1 release version hurt sales and that's why they're not making a sequel. I really enjoyed the final product though. Running around and taking out hordes of zombies was really, really fun.

It kind of feels like a third-person Far Cry, at least on the normal setting. Has a light survival aspect to it, but I've never really felt like it was a struggle. And yeah, the zombie hordes can be wild.

My son and his wife came to visit for the holidays and over the last five days he played through Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4). He'd never played it before and wanted to do the main story. He did a few side quests and whatnot but mainly stuck to the missions. Completed it in under 42 hours at level 41.
I watched most of it... so I thought I'd add it here.
He can't wait until he graduates from college, get's an adult job, and get a PS5.
Nice to know he has his priorities straight.

Picked my Switch back up and spent a couple hour working through the purple streamer in Paper Mario and the Origami King.
