Sure, though I am curious what percentage of people actually put their physical discs inside those steelbooks and throw out the original cases, or if they just display their empty steelbooks as-is.
Plus, for PC games that include steelbooks, the physical disc itself (if there even is one beyond the Steam code) is utterly useless from day one.

A Steelbook that can house a game disc has a use; a Steelbook with a disc tray but no disc is useless. Not like they're the first to do that. I've gotten useless steelboooks for God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West collector's edition. It's nothing new. But yes, if the function of a Steelbook is to hold a disc, then these are useless, albeit collectable.

I'm reminded of this steelbook for Bloodstained (this is a reddit link so if you're going dark on reddit, wait a couple of days...
)
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bloodstaine...ook_is_a_joke/
They basically had a steelbook for preorder and shipped the same steelbook out for switch/Xbox/PS. Obviously the steelbook did not natively hold a switch cartridge so they included a plastic insert that immediately comes out when the steelbook is closed and is completely useless for switch owners.
edited to add: ok I misremembered, it's even worse. This steelbook (really metalpak) ONLY came with switch preorders.

These special editions for this game are making my mouth water. They look so gorgeous. Love the console and controller.
And the watch is cool as hell. Reminds me of that awesome Pip-Boy set that came out several years ago. I had to have it...and then never used it though.

Had a good chunk of Target credit to burn, so I picked up the Starfield controller on a whim.
IMO, it’s the best non-elite controller since the Forza 6 one. Can’t really understand why it’s priced at $80 though.

DF analyzes the Starfield Direct, and they specifically talk frame rate in the first segment. Everyone whining about 30fps should watch these first 10 minutes or so.

I think a fast racing game really benefits from 60 FPS. But a third-person RPG? I don't think it's a big deal at all. I prefer a pretty game that runs smoothly. I'm not swinging the camera around quickly or dodging projectiles anyway. I think this game looks gorgeous. I might just grab me a useless Steelbook and some skins and play this game early over the long weekend!

So after Diablo ran beautifully I discovered the ROG Ally not running Speedstorm half the time wasn't the ROG Ally, it was Speedstorm (phone's 3G hotspot), so now always-on games are back on the table. I looked at gameplay and it was with a sinking heart that I realized this game was going to be like Dead Space Remake where you have to transverse from one place to another finding objectives. I am definitely not buying it without trying it out or looking at gameplay. But if this is finding one objective after another, it's not for me. I also don't like building things like No Man's Sky, and I think this has that. Looks like a great game, I just don't think it'll be a great game for me. If I ever get tired of DSS and/or Diablo I'll activate my 3 free months of Gamepass and try it out. I'm not buying it blind even at $20 for the premium because I played Dead Space for a total of 20 minutes before giving up.
At full price it's $250 a year for Gamepass and EA Play Pro and I use both to try out games, it's how I found out I hated Jedi Survivor and Dead Space. I use it to try out games since most games I don't like or are too hard for me. So I view it as a rental fee and it's cheaper than Gamefly and has most AAA games (I don't have a PS5). Really just $220 if I just get Gamepass for PC.
Games I found out within the last year I didn't like thanks to Gamepass and EA Play Pro:
Wild Heart
Atomic Hearts
Dead Space Remake
Forza Horizon 5
Jedi Survivor
Wo Long
Quantum Break
Now that I think about it, I have never played a game through Gamepass or EA Play Pro that I like

I just get lost, that's it, even with the marker on where to go on Dead Space there was a part where you had to do a switch and there were two floors and I got to the marker and it was just a wall and I just couldn't figure out what to do.
Diablo so far has been easy to follow and get to where you're supposed to go.
And I just don't enjoy build sims like Sim City, Civs, etc.
My two favorite games right now are Disney Speedstorm and Diablo IV. Neither of them have cheats. Make your game accesible to all, grindable, and fun, and I'll show up for a long time.

Bethesda Boss Summoned by FTC to Explain Starfield Xbox Exclusivity
Bethesda executive Pete Hines has been summoned by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to appear in court and outline Microsoft’s approach to Xbox and PlayStation gaming content following its acquisition of ZeniMax Media. The FTC has argued that Microsoft will treat Activision Blizzard IP the same way it treated Bethesda games, making them console exclusive to Xbox.
The FTC wants Hines to testify about Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda as part of ZeniMax Media in relation to “Microsoft Gaming decisions about video game content.” The FTC has previously said that Microsoft reassured regulators that it would not engage in anticompetitive activities but reneged on that promise by making games like Starfield and Redfall exclusive, and alluding to making The Elder Scrolls VI exclusive despite the franchise’s strong history on PlayStation platforms.

Here's hoping they don't delay the release. Console exclusivity is a thing.

Have MS tell them they'll make Starfield available to everyone once FFXVI comes out on XBOX this month.

The game is not getting delayed for this nonsense.
