 See, I hate the space battles and outpost shit (luckily both are pretty avoidable, though some space battles are inevitable) but I think the lock picking may be one of the most innovative systems they threw in there. I love doing them, though I haven't tried a Master level one yet. I can do Expert in under 2 minutes most of the time. It feels like it takes real skill as opposed to lock picking and password cracking in Fallout.

I started a third save. After four hours I FINALLY know how I want to play this game  I may go back to that first one and do a straight to the end walkthrough and keep this one as my take my time walkthrough.

I always save before leaving a planet. If the ship battle is too hard I'll bump the difficulty down to easy and bump it back up to normal after.

In the Starfield subreddit they were making fun of youtubers who were angry over the ability to choose pronouns in this woke game ruining everything and that games should be apolitical and of the responses was Unlike their apolitical game Fallout.

Space battles are more fun and easier when you upgrade your engine at least once and put a point in targeting.

As for lock picking, well I can do master locks, it just takes a bit. But I never go in and finish it right away. I get the system and I know choosing one node (or whatever) might not be the right one. I just reload if I can’t unlock it. The first master lock took me a good ten minutes.

Could you spoil what happens at the end and why sites suggest going straight to the end to start NG+ before doing side content? I ended up refunding through Steam due to the motion sickness. :(

https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/c...rush_the_main/
(has spoilers)

Dan 09-08-23 10:31 AM

re: STARFIELD (Xbox/PC 2023)

Yeah, even without being spoilery, it’s pretty straightforward in terms of NG+ changes; you keep your level and perks, but lose your weapons and completed quests. The game also gives you the option to skip the main quest during NG+ and jump straight into the other stuff.
I think people are suggesting to rush it only because you can then use your NG+ play through to be a completionist, since being completionist isn’t very helpful on your first run since you lose a lot of that. I get it. But as I said, I put in 65+ hours and did a ton of side quests. I have no regrets about it.
Technically, you can power through the main quest in 10-20 hours depending on your skill level.

Some folks have done 10+ play throughs now. Crazy.

Oh so it has nothing to do with what happens in the story? I assumed there was something about how the story ended which made it appealing to do.

GatorDeb 09-08-23 10:36 AM

re: STARFIELD (Xbox/PC 2023)

If you rush the story and finish and then do ng+ and decide to skip the story, does it still count as 100%? In other words, it let's you skip the story but does it act like you did it?
Imma go back to that first save and rush the thing to the end and do the ng+.

I mean, yes… but being specific would be too spoilery. If you REALLY want to know, I’d frame it as
Spoiler:
a kind of acknowledged reincarnation. Not unlike a certain game where you play as two androids, but still very very different.

What's the name of that game?

I was asking for all the spoilers specifically since I had to refund the game and won't play it any time soon.

I manually zoomed out the field of view but it didn't help. Less than an hour later I was dizzy, sweating, and light headed again.I've mentioned it here a few times but I am SUPER prone to motion sickness.

Too bad you didn't try a mod from Nexus Mods, I'm sure someone has or will do a motion sickness one. I was like this in my 20s, 20 minutes of this would land me in bed for the rest of the day.

That's what I tried. Dan posted the steps a bit further back in this thread for me.

Funny...in my 20's I thought I had kicked it. Then it came back with a vengeance. Now I can't be a passenger in a car for more than 15-20 minutes. Flying is completely off the table unless I drug myself up to the point where I just pass out.

I have finally found my ROG Ally game. It wouldn't run so I searched and found a driver's update now it runs perfect. This is a great pick up and go game. Waiting to pick up the kids.

So I did NOT find my next ROG Ally game. MS Syncing sucks (I got Steam's working fine) and I lost 20 mins of progress sigh I'm just gonna stick to the PC and play my damn Picross on the Ally

*@&*^#@*&*@( My save got corrupted by the syncing and now I have to go back and restart from BEFORE The Lodge, I lost hours, this sucks, I will never again play the same game in both devices.

re: STARFIELD (Xbox/PC 2023)

^ could it be because you have different mods installed on each device? That may screw some stuff up.
