No character customization sucks, I would much rather play as a tabby.

I'm not... Because it'll probably be 9+ months after the digital release. ;)
maybe iam8bit and LRG have gotten 'better' at that stuff, but I've been burned enough times to just not bother with them anymore.
I'll pick up the digital copy, though. I have some PSN credit to burn.

Apparently this isn’t a platformer, essentially it’s on rails and you have to click the button for QuickTime like events. At least that’s what I’ve gathered from a few preview videos I’ve watched on it. The developers said too many people were missing the jumps so they dumbed it down so you’d make the jumps every time.

This one could be hit or miss.

Reviews are starting to come out.

It's scoring in the 7.5 to 9 range. Wikipedia has a tally on the Stray (Video Game) page.

I'll get it on the PS5 eventually, but I'm in no hurry.

IGN released a few videos on their Twitter account and looks interesting. However if what EricF stated is true of this being a QuickTime like play, I’ll pass.

This is the kind of game that will be on sale in bundles and Steam for $10 in a year. I can wait.

So I watched my partner play this (stoned) for a couple hours last night, and it seemed pretty cool! It's "gameness" is weird, though. I mean, the puzzles (the few I've seen) are pretty much obvious and the game is pretty much just figuring out which ledge to jump to. All the jumping happens automatically, if you can jump somewhere, an icon shows up, and you just push x to do it. You can't miss.

The story is super interesting though. Definitely worth checking out for free! :)

Re: STRAY: PS4/PS5 - July 19, 2022

Ok, there are parts of the game that are super annoying. Some areas have bad guys in them, that are like little robot moles, or maybe tailless rats? Anyway, when you get to this section, they SWARM you, and all you can do is run away. You eventually get a weapon that kills them, but of course it overheats all the time. You run into the frustration where the length of time it takes to try to get past them (and die) is shorter than the time it takes to reload and try again. So it's more waiting to load than playing until you get past them.

I got it for free as a member of PS Plus. Not sure it's worth $30 (maybe half that), but that's true of any new game's price. I like it a lot, but I'm not a hardcore gamer - I'm guessing those types will say it's "too easy."

I got this for a few days when I temporarily upgraded my PSPlus. It’s decent but not at all what I was expecting. I took my time and explored. I think I finished in about six hours. Was considering doing the speed run, but fuck it.
Plus the ending :
Spoiler:
fucking sucked.

THIS WILL BE MINE

Following a stint as a PlayStation console exclusive, Annapurna Interactive
digitally launched Bluetwelve's action-adventure game Stray on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in August. In partnership with iam8bit and Skybound Games, the publisher has now announced that Stay will get a physical Xbox release sometime in Q4 2023, with preorders expected to go live on October 3rd.

https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...8cffecfa3c.png

The upcoming physical edition of Stray will include the game and six art cards and utilize Xbox's Smart Delivery, so you'll only need to purchase one disk to play the game on your Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. On top of that, with the launch of the physical Xbox version, the physical standard edition of Stray will be permanently discounted to £24.99. Looking at the iam8bit website, there is an "exclusive edition" of the game, which offers an alternative cover, poster, and more. The one available at the moment is PlayStation-only and priced at $34.99, so we'll be interested to see if an Xbox variant will appear alongside it or if this is just for the standard edition.

Just checked and it's on Gamepass. I'll definitely give this a spin.

You're right. The Xbox phone app leaves a lot to be desired in terms of usability. I thought available on pc meant gamepass  I have a feeling this will make it to gp one day.
