It's the main weapon I use since I got it. Brought it to +10 and haven't looked back. The combo when you have both swords out is very effective. The fire special is great for groups of enemies if they swarm you.

Update today which made slight adjustments to the scaling of the new level system for Erdtree. You now get higher gains at earlier levels, with it slowing down as you go up. Should help players in the earlier stages.

I've been messing around with the new perfume bottle weapons. Real fun, IMO and very different from a standard weapon type. I've found a couple bosses I don't know if I'll be able to kill regardless of how much I try. Also close to the end of the story.

The dev team has some major balls. About half the content in the DLC, along with the most stunning areas visually are all optional areas that most people wouldn't find without a guide. Similar to the underground area from the base game except it's more of the overall area in the DLC that's not part of MSQ.

Absolutely loving this DLC. I was trying to continue to use my maxed out dual Bandit Curved Sword from main game in the DLC but felt like it wasn't really doing great damage anymore. I switched over to the Backhand blade and maxed that out and it kicks ass. I guess developers are wanting you to use the new weapons in this. Gotta say the boss before the Shadow Keep was hard AF.

The weapons shouldn't matter, old or new. Just be sure you're searching for the two items to do the Erdtree leveling. One raises your own damage and defense. The other raises the same for whatever spirit ash you use. You use them at any site of grace.

Yeah, have been leveling up with those. Guess it was just coincidence then since I switched the weapon as I was actively increasing the Scadutree Blessing. I'll go back and try my old weapon since I haven't done that. I'm at a 6 now on the Scadrutree.

The DLC apparently sold 5m copies. That's impressive.

Elden Ring's popularity puzzles me a little, but I'm happy for it and From Software since I love the game and most of their stuff.

It's super popular because it has the best of both worlds. It's an amazing single player open world game and its difficulty makes it great for Twitch streaming/watching if you're into that type of thing. It hits two very large segments of the gaming population for different reasons.

I want to play this since Elden Ring was one of my favorites of all time, but I don't own it anymore and I'll wait for a deluxe or definitive edition when it's on sale.

Did they make the Radahn fight easier? I remember it kicking my ass a ton back on my first play through.

The original fight? Not in a long time. He did get nerfed not long after the game first launched, but that was well over a year ago.

Ah, yeah, I played through the game within the first few weeks of release two and a half years ago. I just remember that battle being much more difficult.
