Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
Tina kind of bugs the shit out of me. Not sure if I am up for this.

That looked fucking awesome. Can’t wait! Just enough difference than Borderlands prior.

I'm definitely in.

Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
This comes out the same day as new Kirby so I'm going to play through that first but then definitely this will be up next. All the gameplay videos make this look like a much needed update to the Borderlands formula.

Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
I'm in...got the Ultimate with the Season Pass.. I think this will be a fun ride with the added Wizard/Sorceress abilities adding a lot of wild effects and combos. just getting new classes/characters will be a huge plus.

Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
I preordered it as well. Since it's only $20 more to get the "Chaotic Great Edition" over the standard PS5 edition I went with that.
Grabbed some 4 x $25 PSN cards from Costco for $89.99. Seemed like a good enough deal for a pre-order. Would have liked to have seen some reviews first though. Guess they're coming on 3/23. Preordering gets you the Golden Hero Armor Pack https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...b195e82470.png Opt in for Newsletters and Marketing from 2K and Gearbox with a 2K account to receive the Town Crier Pack https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...820e74ac39.png |
Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
Yep, have this pre-ordered. I am kind of bummed (but not really) that I have tickets to see Martin Short and Steve Martin on release day. I think I will start with a Sporewarden for my co-op character to play with my friends, I got tired of seeing my friends monkey in BL3 just run past my dying body and not try and revive me that I want to return the favor, I also want it to fart on my friends. I am torn between Graveborn and Spellshot for my solo play character, Spellshot reminds me of a possible Gunzerker, but I guess it depends on how strong spells actually are in this game.

that one-shot Assault on Dragon's Keep was from B2, right? not indicative of new game at all?

Not sure what you mean by indicative. This new game is a follow-up to that dlc since that concept proved popular.

i mean, Dragon's Keep was from Borderlands 2, gameplay and the like. this new game is different in many aspects and one can't judge new game by the old dlc at all, correct?

Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
Most of the Borderlands games have been around 80ish in critics reviews. Hope this surpasses. I need some addictive gameplay again. Those links Decker post they seemed very enthusiastic.
I think I’m gonna start off as the Spellshot or Clawbringer. I’m run and gun. I think Spellshot. Though Clawbringer sounds my type, but maybe different better here. I like great guns. |
Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
It won't get stellar reviews better than others in the series, I suspect. Here's a more negative preview from Game Spot. It doesn't bother me much. It's really similar to Borderlands 3? I'm okay with that.

Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
Yes, he is negative. You hear it throughout the 6 plus minutes. Weird why he only had access to 2 classes when other guy had all. And if the mechanics are same as B3, I’m ok with that. But, in no way does it look similar or this would be a dlc of that world. I’ll be happy round 85%.

Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
What does tabletop rpg mean? What other games liken?
|
Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
Like the old original Dungeons and Dragons game. With results of actions based on dice rolls.
|
Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
But there wasn’t mention of that in preview. No dice except that one that gives loot. This looks like traditional Borderlands and never heard those called tabletop.

Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
I don't know the context but lots of games use those mechanics without dice tumbling down. The Mass Effect games for example. Disco Elysium, Pillars of Eternity. The Witcher.

Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
Really. Never played those. But this looks like Borderlands and not too much more. Maybe more rpg, but still first person shooter it looked to me.

Re: Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (Borderlands spin-off) --> 3/25/22 --> (all platforms, sans Switch)
Not a official Review but a solid long article "preview" from Gameinformer......I've yet to read a single negative story on TTW. All have been pretty impressed with the story, new chararters and magic Abilities that just open it all up...plus the End game really sounds interesting....
