I play Cold War every day and they are pushing Vanguard so hard. I have zero interest in returning to that time period.

I have zero interest in modern day or in the future COD so I’m looking forward to this.

WaW is still my favorite... depends what the MP (and BR if this has one) looks like. I hated the mechanics of WWII though so I'm skeptical.

that looked great. i know not known, but i hope lengthy single player (which this could be. Certainly looks great and lot to do in those 9 min) bc modern Modern Warfare left me hollow and empty. so fucking short.

I really doubt it. Call of Duty campaigns are always short. I think the longest on HowLongToBeat is 9 hours, with most clocking in around 6 hours.

^ but that’s only MP, right? How do they calculate hours for a MP game?

I'm glad to see this time period again along with the different Allies in the mix...I didn't care for some of that futuristic stuff; seemed to boggle up what COD is about....have they said anything on coop campaign? World at War was a blast in 4 person. We went thru in Veteran and that was seriously fun stuff....

Goddam it... every year, I tell myself I'm going to pass. Then I see these stellar videos and demos and buy it anyways. Then I play about 50% of the SP and 10 hours of the MP and delete it from my hard drive. Gotta say, this looks damn impressive.

It obviously has a single player campaign.

You don't "beat" a multiplayer CoD game.

I heard BO3 diff do nt have any single player. Vids make no mention, yet it looked like they showed SP. but, I thought this was known for none…

Black Ops 4 is the one with no single player campaign. All the others have one.

Yup.

Although I can see how someone could get confused since BO4 was marketed as Black Ops IIII. :p

I've never liked Treyarch but Cold War is much better than Modern Warfare and one of my Favorite COD's now.

So, not too sure how many of you know this but Vanguard was supposed to be release before Cold War but Sledgehammer dropped the ball and the game was a mess. This was also the reason why Cold War was an unfinished mess when it was released. I hated WW2 and I'm really hoping they deliver this time out but it seems like Activision should give them the boot.

I typed it out as Black Ops IIII and hated myself so I changed it to 4

Is that right?

From a 2019 article by Jason Schreier:

Next year’s Call of Duty has gone through a major upheaval, as publisher Activision informed developers this week that studios Raven and Sledgehammer, which had until now led the project, will no longer be in charge. Instead, according to three people familiar with goings-on at the companies, Treyarch will lead development on a new Black Ops for 2020.
According to Jason, Treyarch took over Cold War from Raven and Sledgehammer, with the other two studios relegated to providing support. And me making assumptions here: switching gears in 2019 didn't leave a full 3 year cycle for Sledgehammer's next CoD to be developed, but returning to WWII let them leverage existing assets and research to speed things along.

Oh wow, didn't know sledgehammer & Raven were heading up Cold War originally.

Re: Call of Duty: Vanguard - 11/5/21 (Xbox, PS, battle.net)

I'm pretty sure I'm getting this as a gift for either my birthday or Christmas. If I weren't, I'm sure I'd pick it up eventually but only when it went for cheap, since I really just play the campaign once and that's it.

But geez, it seems like this has the least hype behind any Call of Duty release going back I-don't-even-know-how-many years...not from any of the gaming communities I'm a part of and not even from Activision, really. Halo and Battlefield seem to be generating orders of magnitude more discussion. I forgot Vanguard was even coming out this week.

I know. That can’t be good, but I’m all in with CoD. That and Halo, I am loyal to a fault.

77% for PS5 (most reviewed). Not great, but not horrible. A lot saying good FPS and single player campaign. Along with MP and Zombies (can you only play that in MP?). Even the 85’s sound good. Haven’t read too much bad as of yet. Visuals look good.
