Hello Fellow DVD Talkers and Guests....

We have various threads for..."Game Deals"...."Last Game You Bought"...."What Your Are Playing in the Month of_____"...."The Finished and Unfinished Game Report"...but really nothing on Upcoming and Announced Games. Normally, just start a thread for said game would be ideal but considering all the delays and pushed back over the last year with some extended even more...like Dying Light 2...instead of starting a thread only to see it fade away and dug up a year later, just put out the announced and upcoming game for all to see and when it does come out or goes Gold, then start the thread for said game....

So in the last week or two there's been a few notables and I'll start it off with those. Some we already know about announced a few weeks ago...Alien Fireteam one of them...so feel free to put out new stuff coming, annnonced so all can check and see....so here we go....

The Ascent...a top-down RPG Shooter along the lines of Diablo, annouced last year with little flair but caught the eye of many. Scheduled for later this year for Xbox and PC....gameplay trailer shows off 4-player co-op that's impressive in a impressive setting....

Dark Alliance....a re-boot of the classic Dungeons & Dragons game featuring 4-player co-op with a look between Elder Scrolls Online and Diablo..... Four Classes to choose from with each having close to 60 Special combos and Moves with Level 1 to 20. there is a Skill Tree for each character as well....Around 21 Missions with each averaging around 20-30 minutes. As of now, not much in terms of End Game material. Schedule for June for consoles and PC at $39 and for $59 for Delux Version.

How have I bought these and not played them?

I just saw vid of 2, but it looks as insane as DOOM (2016). I didn’t really see Borderlands connection the review mentioned, but I guess with the 70 weapons in this compared to zillions in Borderlands?

G-damn 2 looks good too.

Any reason I can’t skip 1 and go to 2? I mean certainly not now, but in future would love to play at least 2 and I’m sure eventual 3...

Those games are not remotely as polished as Doom. They're campy fun, but they ain't Doom.

I wouldn't start at 2. The first one is really good and sets up the character and overall feel of the series. I played the original when it was released as just a pc game in the 90s. It used the Duke Nukem 3d engine and plays very similar to that if you ever played it. All the humor and one-liners is very comparable as well. Back then people were even calling it Samurai Duke. It's a great series and can't wait for the new one.

sounds good. i'll start whenever with 1. but, it's still zany FPS style like other 2 correct? just not as good of graphics as 2 and upcoming 3...

I'll say for me so far is the big annoucement of "Lost Ark" coming this fall. This game was briefly mentioned a year ago has having a svery slight chance coming to North America and then nothing....it's coming alright with Amazon picking it up but sadly...PC/Steam only for now.....a bit of Diablo meets Black desert meets Final Fantasy meets a bit of Three Kingdoms....

Intedresting game as it has the look of World of Warcraft meets Diablo 3....announce yesterday during E3 and already up in PS Store...PS4, PS5, PC July 24th....$19 and $29....

Ubisoft's Show was pretty good overall with a lot of announcements, showings, trailers but no doubt the last,,,,showcasing the New Snowdrop Engine with footage from their Avatar Game....was nothing short of mind-blowing. This might be THE DEMO Game for any latest Gen or PC System...out in 2022....enjoy....
